  1. External drive support?

Could anyone tell me if this drive would be compatible with the Xbox One once it has external drive support?

I'm reading good things about external drive speeds over the internal drive speed. So would love to get the most performance possible.

    :)

    Xbox One Digital Download Transfer

    1. Plug external hard drive into Xbox One with good connection.

    2. Download games.

    3. Unplug external drive.

    4. Take external drive to Xbox One with bad connection.

    5. Plug external drive in.

    6. Play games.

    7. Say thank you.

Note: External drive needs to be USB 3.0 and have 256GB of free space.

Yes, that would work fine. The only requirements are that the hard drive is USB 3.0 compatible and has at least 256GB of storage space.

  6. I purchased a WD 3T usb3.0 drive the other day for my xbox one... I read somewhere the updates were rolling out already... any word if thats true. Or is the update only happening in June.. if so.. anyone have a date? Didn't want to hook it up if its not
    ready...

  7. Yes it should be compatible. Though I believe it may be a bit much for an Xbox expansion. I'm currently running the update preview and there is very little difference between a HDD and an SSD with regards to transfer speeds and load times.

This particular drive looks more suited to transferring many small file fast.

Don't get me wrong, it looks like a great product, however, I'd save some money and get a 4TB standard USB 3.0 Drive.

Also another note to be aware of is that once you plug the external drive into the Xbox One and set it up, the Xbox One uses the entire drive and the drive will not be compatible for use with any other devices (except other Xbox One's)

    Slash Fn Rocks,

The update has started to roll out to those in the update preview who are testing out the features. The update will be coming to everyone in June. There is no set date but all the others have come within the first two weeks of the month.

  11. Can I use one external drive for two Xbox ones? This would be used for two different accounts but both consoles are in the same room.

My Hard drive is compatible for both Mac and Windows. It is a 3.0TB HD and I tried to hook it up but it flashed blue meaning it didn't work, it usually flashes white when hooked up. Frustrating, maybe I'll try and hook it up at another time since I just
    got the xbox one.
