External Drive Detection issues with Drive that meets the requirements

I've purchased the WD Easystore 2TB USB 3.0 portable drive to use with my Xbox One (Original). When I connect it to the USB port, the Xbox will recognized it as external storage but after sometime it disappear out of the external storage list. When I reboot
the Xbox, it give a message that the external storage device is too slow. If I disconnect it and reconnect it, it will show up for sometime but then disappear. Can anyone verify this devices compatibility with the Xbox One?

    :)

External Hard drive question about the Xbox One .

    Hello,

    Thanks for the support message.

As long as the HD meets the following requirements, it should work:

For an external storage drive to save games and apps from Xbox One, it must meet the following requirements:

    • It uses a USB 3.0 connection. If you’re using a USB hub, the hub must also be USB 3.0 or later.
    • It has 256 GB or larger storage capacity.
    • It has a partition. Typically, drives come with a preformatted partition. For more information about partitioning an external hard drive, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Devices that don’t meet these requirements will be treated as media storage, such as for music or video. For more information, see How to manage storage on Xbox One.

More info: Troubleshoot External Storage Drive Detection

Should you have any other concerns, feel free to post back.

    Cheers!

Sorry but the minimum size requirement for an external drive is 256GB. The drive must also meet USB 3.0 requirements in order to function properly.

    Hope this helps.

    Here is a
    troubleshoot guide for external.
If you are still having issues I would go with the manufacturer of the external Hard drive. there is not a list per say as to what ones are compatible.

Hope this helps, let us know by a reply.

Are you able to try using a different USB cable to connect the drive to the Xbox One?

It could be an issue with the cable, but I doubt it, but everything is worth trying once to resolve issues.
