Extended Warranty for Xbox Elite Series 2 Replacement

Hi, first time posting here but I'm frustrated trying to find an answer or solution.

I bought a new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller back in May, from Best Buy on eBay. Foolishly, I turned down the Square Trade extended warranty because I never had an issue with my Series 1 controller over the years I used it, and I had high expectations that
a $180 controller wouldn't have such issues. Well within 2 months of use, the controller started experiencing stick drift, and luckily it happened within the manufacturer warranty, so I was able to ship it off and just received the replacement controller today.

Now my faith in the quality/lifespan of these controllers has sunk, and I want to know if there's some sort of extended warranty I can get to now protect the new replacement controller. I love these controllers and I want to keep using them but I'm worried
that this will be a reoccurring issue, and I'm only seeing options to add coverage for the Surface or Xbox console.

Warranties cover a like for like replacement if required under that warranty so as far as I know, yes, if you send an Elite series 2 in for replacement you will receive an Elite series 2 back.

They recently extended the warranty for elite 2 to one year. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/controller/elite-controller-series-2-warranty . maybe this will help

Yes you can. I preordered my Series X from Best Buy. I received it Nov 11th.

Just this morning I added the Microsoft Extended warranty for $49 plus tax.

You have 45 days from purchase date to add it.

It's a great deal in that it extends the warranty out 3 years (not 3 years past initial warranty, just 3 years from registered date) and covers up to 2 controller replacements (only 1 replacement if controller is the Elite) and 1 console replacement.

Best Buy wanted $69 and only extended 2 years and included only 1 controller replacement and 1 console replacement.

First I just want to say sorry you are having problems with the elite controller and you are right when you do expect it to work without fuss so im going to try help you best i can with this.

I do see in your mesaage you said “ im only seeing options for surfice and xbox”

This would be Microsoft complete witch is a extended warnty microsffot provides and this does cover you for 2 normal controler replacesments (
Not Elite ) long as you as you add the cover to your xbox.

Other then that I really don't think there is anything else what Microsoft offers for the question you are asking. I know this is not the Answer you where looking for if you do need more help feel free to reply to this post.

I would recommend an Elite series 2 WITH A WARRANTY. The series 2 is a nice controller to own but has a history of breaking down at the worst times. If you get an extended warranty it will make the purchase worth it.
