  1. Extended Warranty Doesn't Cover Power Supply

OK, so I buy an Xbox One Elite and they talked me into an extended warranty at one of the Microsoft Store/Kiosk outlets. So this week the power supply makes some kind of loud whining noise. Apparently the fan is going belly up. No problem, right? I have
an extended warranty. Well, yes and no. Apparently the console is still totally covered, even from accidental kiddo damage. But the power supply, no such luck, they want to charge me for it as it is covered differently.

I can't believe the more expensive part (console) that can have so many things fail or go wrong or be broken by accident is covered, but a power supply that should, in theory, should outlast the device they are powering is not.

    :)

just curious, what is the biggest problem if the specs dont match up?

    [/quote]

There's a chance the power supply will work fine. There's also a chance that issues won't show until later down the line, assuming you continue to use it for extended periods. However, there's also the possibility that the power supply could permanently
damage or even fry your Xbox One. It's pretty much the same situation as with computers; if you buy a terrible power supply for a PC and it fails, you risk damaging all of the other components ranging from as little as the RAM to the motherboard itself or
even potentially frying it all. In short: if you fry it, it's a useless heap of trash. Microsoft's warranty doesn't cover damage caused by third party products either.

    Xbox one power supply issue

You can order a replacement Xbox One power supply from the Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to replace the power supply under warranty (the power supply warranty is the same as your console warranty).

Extended Warranty Doesn't Cover Power Supply

The warranty for the devices and the accessories is different. The power supply is an accessory

xbox one Power supply very noisy

    DraftyCrawdad,

This isn't normal. If your console is still under warranty then your power supply should be under warranty as your power supply warranty is the same as your console warranty. Just go to
http://myservice.xbox.com , register your console if it isn't already, then replace an Accessory, and select power supply. If it wants you to purchase it, click on the "Disagree with warranty status?"
link, then select "Start a Chat", and have
    this reference (Solution 8)
handy that specifically states your console/power supply warranty are the same. So this should be covered.

    I dropped my Xbox controller

Hello Denis, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I'm sorry, the Controller warranty doesn't cover physical damage. But if you have the extended warranty which covers accidents as well, then it can be repaired under warranty.

$115 for repairs? Please think of Customer Loyalty.

That $115. Does it cover the repair and extend the warranty for another year?
