    Expiring MS Points?


    I have balance of $8.22 that was transferred from MS points to currency when they got rid of MS points. I was advised it was expiring on Jan 7th, however, whenever I go to purchase anything on the marketplace, the only payment option is credit card. How
    do I use these points before they expire?

    Unrelated - I may have to post this in a different section - I am trying to download the current "Games with Gold" games as I have done in the past. The Xbox ONE games are asking me to add a credit card to my file before doing the download (I have one on
    file and it shows up for 360 games...). I am located in Canada, and when I go to fill out the CC info it says "State/Province" however drop down only has the US States listed, so I am unable to fill out the form and thus unable to download the current games.

    Microsoft points via Bing Rewards

    Some additional information: Only reward points given through MS promotions/reward program have expiration dates. Also, you can also check if you have expiring points by going to billing.microsoft.com. It will list next to the points when they are expiring.
    Hpe this helped a bit more ;P.

    Sorry to hear it. Is your gamertag set for US instead of Canada? If it is then that would be why you are having both issues. You would need to switch your region back to Canada.

    If you cannot make a purchase from the website using the currency then please try purchasing from the console. There should be an option to use the currency first from there.

    You should be able to add the current GwG offer from the Xbox One console as well.

    Thanks for the advise of using the console to use the currency as an option, I'm currently out of town so I don't have direct access to my consoles... I was hoping to use the money to buy a game that is currently discounted for the "Countdown to 2016 sale"...
    Oh well, at least I will be back home before the points expire to try it out.

    My gamertag region is set to Canada. This issue is a bit odd, as I have almost always used my PC to get the GwG games for both consoles, without issue until now

    Expired MS points

    All promotional points expire, including points from the rewards program, about a year after you receive them. There is no way to get them back.

    ok I just went to the Microsoft Billing page and it was actually 1400 MS point that I had had.

    it is showing that 300 points were removed because they were expired. expired?

    I never read anything anywhere about MS points expiring.

    In most situations you should not have lost your MS points, however, certain MS points can expire. If you purchased them, they should not expire. The ones that typically expire are the ones that are earned through promotions or through the xbox rewards program.
