Expired Warranty - Attempted to replace internal HD

My warranty expired 2/2/2016. Been playing Dark Souls 3 and had grown a bit tired of the long loading screens. So I attempted to replace the internal HD with a 1TB SSD for some better performance and a bit more storage (I don't have a lot of games). I
was not successful with any of the method that I could think of or found online. So I put the original HD back in since it worked find and I would just return the SSD but after putting the original HD back in I get E200 and none of the OSUDT1/3/Reset (2 is
corrupted - systemaux.xvd will not extract) work. All of them give me E101. Sending the Xbox in for a replacement costs 125$ (counting the shipping label) but this one should of worked fine after I put the old HD back in.

I am just looking for suggestions other then the send in it for repair. Don't figure I will get any but no harm in trying.

Do not open up your Xbox and replace that HD unless your warranty is already run out because it will void it.

Your not going to find a external that runs much faster than the internal and you really dont need it anyways. Just grab a external 2-4TB HD thats USB 3.0 and call it a day.

 

Has anyone been using a seagate backup plus fast?

Why would the drive be faster if you used it with a PC?

SATA is faster than USB 3.0 so if everything else is equal the internal drive on the PC will be faster.

I can see the logic of gaming off an external if you want to reduce load times considering the internal HD on the One is difficult to replace and voids the warranty but on a PC......never.

I'm sorry but the only possibility you have now is to send it for repairs at a tech service not affiliated with Microsoft.

 

I don't think they will touch it, I have seen other post where the console was simply sent back unrepaired.

There is no excuse you can use external HDD, Its highly likely the console will be banned.
