    Experiencing input lag and I don't know why.


    Hello, for over a week my console has been experiencing input lag. No matter what app or game I'm on, there is quite a delay between pressing a button and the action happening on the screen. This happens even when I disconnect the console from the internet
    and play offline. By the way, I didn't change anything or any settings before noticing this. I just randomly noticed this. I've tried many things to resolve this:

    I've tried a different TV, different HDMI cable, different controllers ( tried with batteries and USB cable ), I tried changing TV settings and console display settings, i did alternate mac address, cleared persistent storage, power cycle, even a factory
    reset, but nothing works. So the problem must be the console right? But I don't know if it's a software or hardware problem. If it's a software issue, would this not be affecting lots of people? I searched everywhere and can't find people also experiencing
    this so it can't be an update issue or anything.

    If anyone has any other advice for things I can try I'd appreciate it.

    I don't know why

    Perform a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    If that doesn't work contact support directly to see what is going on with your account. Contact Us | Xbox Support

    If you have anything plugged into the USB ports, like a hard drive. Remove that and try a hard reset.

    Hard reset the Xbox by holding down the power button on the front of the Xbox for 15 seconds. After the 15 seconds let go of the power button then restart the Xbox.

    Hey, thanks for the reply. I have tried the hard reset, I don't have anything plugged in the USB port either.

    It's not input lag he's referring to. Your input lag in particular should be outstanding from the looks of it. What you're experiencing and what the OP is referring to is the beauty of the Call of Duty Franchise, good ol' internet Lag Compensation. One of
    the major reasons I stopped playing the MP for this franchise.

    4K TVs and Input Lag

    Hi

    For a television I thing 14ms input lag is fantastic so unless you are very sensitive to input lag I don't think you will notice much if any difference between 6ms and 14ms. Also don't forget most gamers will probably be playing on televisions with worse
    input lag than 14ms so I don't think you will be at any disadvantage when gaming.

    What the hell lag EVERY GAME.

    CODukes, remember that input lag is different than response time. The best monitors I have seen are about 9ms of input lag with a 1 seconds response. truly beast. I just (literally today) purchased a 27" monitor for my wife because I found my wife's TV has
    ~100ms of input lag (no game mode). 10ms input lag 6ms of response time. What monitor did you get? Whats funny is my TV a Sharp 52" from 2007 has a 30ms input lag. Which explains why I tend to do better than my wife... :)
