    Experiences with Xbox One

Hi, recently I decided to take a break from gaming due to it having, to me at least, seemed to have begun to stagnate and lost it's previous allure. But, now the urge to play has begun to gnaw away again and I fired up the 360 and began a replay of Gears,
    loved it.

Now my question is this, what are your experiences with the Xbox One?

I sold my PS4 after becoming a little disillusioned with it, or rather with the lack of community that I'd enjoyed on 360. Now I'm on the brink of buying an Xbox One and felt extremely comfortable doing so, catching up with old gaming friends and seeing
what the MS box had to offer over the Sony machine, that was until I ventured back to these forums and read a few of the horror stories people have suffered with Xbox One.

So are these just sticking out as people only really tend to post if they have problems? I'm mad keen to go forth with Xbox One but don't want to get landed with a console riddled with issues, so, how's it been for yourself?

Apologies for the text overkill, and cheers.

    :)

FYI, PS4 is the same about installing discs.

You still need a disc when starting the game for the console to check the license (that you didn't sell the game). Games install from discs pretty quick, but when you buy digitally it depends mostly on your internet connection speed. Unfortunately for you,
the biggest competitor of Xbox works the same exact way.

    ^^ Same here.

I haven't had any issues. I only use the Kinect for game DVR commands.

In my opinion the controller feels nice in your hands, but it feels cheap. It seem that if I dropped it, it would break into a million pieces. I keep my PS3 controller out for my 7 year old to watch Netflix and he drops that on the hardwood floor all the
time and it works perfectly. That wouldn't happen with the x1 controller.

The Dashboard sometimes tells me if I own the game/app. The controller vibrates violently. But nothing else major. Still can Voice Message or change Dash background but it may come in an update.

The graphics in Zoo Tycoon and Minecraft is amazing and both games function better than on the 360. The console gives you detailed network stats. And it doesn't abruptly disconnect you from XBL every time there's an Update which is what 360 annoyingly does
especially when it abruptly cuts you off from your XBL Party. The Kinect is amazing, QR codes, games including Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports Rivals, voice chat, voice commands, and signing in. The controller fits perfectly into my hands too and it's lighter
than the wireless 360 controller for my slim 360 console. Also Forza Horizon 2, Halo MCC, and Project Spark Full version are due out soon. I agree the controller does feel a bit fragile it's skin is a bit less robust. At least the controller isn't a behemoth
and is smaller than the 360.

I give Xbox 360 a 100/10 (no typo I like it) and Xbox 1 7/10. At launch I would have given Xbox 1 a 5/10 what it was like at launch without all the Updates which M adds monthly.

^^Comparing a console that is 9 years old to one that hasnt hit a year yet is like comparing an Ipod to a walkman.

Xbox One has its issues just like any other electronic device. PS4 has its issues as well. I think if you pick up an XB1 you would like it. Especially since games are about to drop like crazy.

Cheers folks, all the feedback is much appreciated.

Good to hear you've all had positive experiences with the console, I loved the original Xbox and the 360 but was put off by the whole One launch and picked up a PS4, also a great console, but now feel happy to be back gaming on 360 with a definite Xbox One
    purchase in the near future.

I've had mostly a positive experience with my Day One console, but I love that MS is pro-actively listening to gamers and the monthly updates reflect that effort. Phil Spencer is doing great things with the Xbox, can't wait to see what he brings to the table
    over the next few years.

And I would take all the horror stories with a grain of salt, I don't doubt that there are unlucky people having real problems, but some appear to just be over critical of the smallest issues.
