Expansion Pass

I was wondering if one were to obtain an expansion pass for Xbox 360, if it would carry over to Xbox one, like the CoD season pass did. I don't know if other games participate in that or if it was a one time thing. I'm curious because I finally got a pre
order in for the Ghost Edition but it's for 360. I don't mind having to buy the game again for the Xbox One but I don't want the expansion pass to also be useless.

Are You Actually Getting A "Season Pass" for "Destiny"?

It's called an expansion pass and yes (covers 2 expansions)

 

latest patch breaks xbox one live connection.

I uninstalled the expansion packs and left the pass installed.

The dark below content still worked because the expansion pass was installed

I was able to play for 4 hours last night and had no problems.

It's too early to say if that is the cause as it just could be coincidence.

But if you own the expansion pass and have also installed the individual expansions just uninstall them as the expansion pass is all that is needed to use the expansions. The individual expansions are only 9MB files anyway. They are probably just unlock
keys and can be deleted if you have the expansion pass installed.

I'll be playing Destiny again tonight so will have to see if it happens again. Hopefully it wont.

 

That was a one time deal for ghosts (since it was pretty much brand new when xbox one came out). Now though, you have to buy the copy for the system you want. The only time it "might" happen again is when xbox live goes offline permanently and everyone has
to go to the xbox one to play online and that will be depend on if any new games correlate with that time frame....

 

Don't forget that your destiny beta characters were playable on both consoles. It something different of course but maybe it also works with the dlc pass

 

The Expansion Pass should be linked to your Xbox profile, as it's likely a code you enter, just like the Xbox Live subscription codes.

That said, I've been looking for a definite answer to this and have yet to find one, but considering most other DLC passes work this way, this one probably will, too.

 

Well, i had to buy the titanfall season pass again, so i wouldnt be surprised if the destiny expansion required another purchase.

 

Has it been confirmed as to whether your characters are playable on either platform?

 

Somewhere in the glut of Destiny info that's been flooding the world the last couple of weeks, someone did say the characters may transfer from one console generation to the next, but I don't have a link right now that I can offer to show you.

Also, Bungie announced yesterday that something new about Destiny will be revealed today at some time. I have no idea when or what it is.

 

The characters do transfer over to the next gen consoles.

I'll try to buy it but it says insufficient funds and I have 36 dollars in my account

 

the game is not cross platform or cross system. dlc, toons and passes don't carry over. from what i've read on other forums.
