Expansion pass and Taken King

I haven't played in a very long time and bought the expansion pass with the game on release. I reinstalled Destiny yesterday along with the first two expansion packs. The Taken King does not show as part of the expansion pass but I am coming across the Taken
in game.

Do I already have The Taken King or do I need to buy it?.

XBox upgrade and Destiny Expansion 3 $the Taken King$ not longer accessible

I purchased Destiny the Taken King Expansion pass last year for my XBox 360. I just upgraded to XBox one, but now can't access the Taken King. Any ideas?

If you look on the destiny website you can see that the expansion pass only includes The dark below and house of wolves, They hadn't even announced the taken king when the expansion pass first became available

 

I really miss the old xbox forums. In those days this thread would have already been at least 3 pages of insults, arguments and threats of people being reported. Along with maybe only one person being helpful.

I miss the good old days.

 

I think the taken king is included in the expansion pass. i just picked up a code for the expansion and two DLC and taken king quests seem to be there to play. Its a completely different game now - I cant believe how cheated we were when we bought the 'vanilla'
version at launch. Its so much better now. It would have been nice if I had been able to pick the stuff up at a discount - but there you go. Good luck!

 

Thanks for responding. I'm not quite sure what to make of this the title screen says The Taken King but still says I have to buy it. Guess I will just have to wait and see how it pans out.

The game does seem to look and play better than it used to so that is a big plus in itself.

Destiny is a totally different game from when it was first launched

The current state of Destiny now is what it should have been when it was first introduced, not the way that it was with The Dark Below and House Of Wolves DLCs.

Agree - the more I play the more I am inclined to think that they decided to hide huge chunks of the game to be sold to us later as DLC. The plot is still sketchy at best. The way I see it is that the DLC needs to be played almost independently to the main
game - but staying in the right order keeping in line with the vanilla version if that makes sense. The armour and weapons are a bit over the place as well for me. I have gear that requires level 28 but it has lover stats that that of level 25 stuff. All that
aside though - its a much better game than it was originally. \however, if you add it all up I am basically playing a £100 FPS.

Here is what I paid for with Destiny so far

$66.00 --> Destiny

$44.00 --> Season Pass

$44.00 --> The Taken King DLC

I absolutely love Destiny (it is my favorite Xbox One game) and I do not regret paying this much money because at this point of time, I've spend about 1,500 hours and up on the game

However, just because I feel this way about the game, I will not refrain from saying the following...

The amount of content that Bungie / Activision is releasing for this game is without a doubt the very definition of " Bare Bones Content ".

$66.00 --> Destiny vanilla is only worth $33.00 but it would be worth $66.00 if The Dark Below and House Of Wolves was included in it.

$44.00 --> Season Pass is severely overpriced for the measly content that The Dark Below and House Of Wolves added. This should have been only $22.00 only with Destiny vanilla at $33.00

$44.000 --> The Taken King expansion is also severely overpriced, the amount of content that this DLC added is about the same as the Season Pass delivered and once again should have only been $22.00

Well I went ahead and bought The Taken King. It was only $30 so I figured why not. Hopefully I will be able to spend a decent amount of time with it .
