Exotic Weapon Bounty KILLED My Fun

I loved this game. Got my Titan to level 27, having a blast playing strikes and running the crucible, and was looking forward to new content. Then I got the Exotic Weapon Bounty - a good one, too! The Hand Canon! I was truly excited. It led me through
a series of hoops, a lot of time and effort but all fun ... and then, it suddenly told me I had to earn 500 points in The Crucible ... and that it would take points AWAY every time I die.

The game hasn't been any fun since. Suddenly I was made very aware that I wasn't as good as everybody else. it never bothered me before - I just had fun playing. Now I'm counting my deaths, I'm angry, I'm trying to get other people to play for me, and
the game has made it obvious that I'll never earn this gun no matter how much I play. I'd love to just abandon the bounty and forget I ever came across it, but I've invested so much time and energy into it already and the reward is just taunting me. It's
so infuriating! It's as if the game is truly penalizing me for not being a 'good enough player'.

Today I rage quit in the middle of a crucible match. I've NEVER rage quit before, not even in Call of Duty or Battlefield. But I was so *** that after 10 straight matches, my total score for the bounty was ZERO. All my efforts for nothing. I think that's
it for me - I'm done with this game. If the Exotic Weapon Bounties come up in your game, STOP and Google what you'll have to do before selecting it. Make sure you're up to the challenge. Because this experience completely turned me off to the entire Destiny
game, and I have no idea when or even if I'll be returning.

I need help with my exotic weapon bounty, Xyor the unwed. Any takers?

 

No Legendary or Exotic weapons

Exotic weapon bounties might be the fastest route, despite them being completely random handouts from the Bounty collector

 

Hey man, I feel your pain. The bounty your talking about, is it where your have to score 500 points in the crucible with void damage? Yeah, I gave that one up. For the simple fact that I DO suck at the crucible. Not afraid to admit it. To much work. But
don't let that stop you from enjoying the game. Don't stop playing. If you really want to abandon it, go ahead. There are other exotic bounties out there. Just because you think you aren't any good at pvp doesn't mean you should give the game up. Stick with
it, practice, have fun. Just remember, there are many of us who've been at the breaking point like you are, but we're still here. Good luck!

 

I completed it. U have to use a weapon with void damage also. It took me two days of playing to finish that part. But when you get to the next portion is when it gets hard. You have to do a lvl 28 moon strike, and make it to the end boss but you can't
kill him, instead you and I would suggest at least one other. I did it once with three of us and the next time I helped another it was just me and him. You have to survive about 40 minutes of waves of witches and knights once u make it to the gigantic monster
until the main boss shows up and you have to kill him in order to obtain thorn. It is a fun hand cannon, but not my favorite as my legendary holds 11 rounds and is just as good and thorn only holds six so It quickly became a weapon I only bring out to prove
it did the bounty and thats about it. If you make it to the next portion I would be more than happy to help out. I suck at the crucible also and I was almost ready to delete the bounty but I kept trying. For best result equip a fusion rifle with void damage
and as long as u finish a match with a few kills the counter will go up.

 

This game frustrates me also. That's why I have other games so I can take a break. Exotic bounties are meant to be hard. Thorn is a cool hand cannon and they don't want anybody getting it. Keep trying like I did and you will eventually get it. I hate
pvp also but I do play it when easy crucible bounties come my way. I have had a terrible time with the VoG raid, I sucked at it and have only to date made it to the gate keeper. And when I finally get a group and give it a go I always get confused at that
point of the raid and thats where things fall apart.

I got so mad at the game a few weeks ago I traded it in but after a couple of weeks I got it back and now I'm enjoying it again in moderation. I can only play it a couple of days at a time.

 

I have the same bounty. Took me forever to get 500 points but i did it. Now I need a partner for the last task..the STRIKE... ;(

I agree, I hate Crucible, I have one of those I am working on, and am now thinking of abandoning it. Toland's Legacy, one requirement is this, Obtain 10,000 points in the Crucible to obtain Sated Pulse Rifle. A Titan or Hunter kill or assist is worth 25
points, and a Warlock kill or assist is worth 75 Points.

I ask why all the emphasis on Crucible? It has been a fun game.
