Existing external HDD to new console

Hello all and thanks in advance or the help.

Its time to replace my launch console with a new S,but I don't know how to move my external HDD to the new console. Do I just log into the new console with the same gamertag,make it my main console and plug in the HDD and go? I do not want to redownload
several TBs of games just to get a new console.

Xbox unable to read media files beyond 2TB in 4TB external HDD

I have a 4TB external HDD plugged onto my xbox one (1TB with 80GB space left). My external HDD is filled up with approx 2TB data. Now the new video files that i add on the external hdd is not being detected by any of the video players in xbox but they are
readable from my PC. The existing video files work fine in the xbox. How to fix the issue?

Ah yes, the "adapter" program. Kinda like the one they used to allow Files to be moved from the old MS Xbox 360 proprietary HDD to their new Xbox 360 proprietary HDD. Elephant in the room says, Kinect is dead.

Oh, I am the only one who noticed the price of the larger HDD is a little skewed when simply considering using a much cheaper existing external HDD with larger capacity?

Why would you replace a standard One S with another S without a Blu-ray drive? Just buy a large external hdd, much cheaper. The all digital isn't an upgrade, it's a downgrade!

This console is more for new users, not existing ones.

Also check in the settings, that your external hdd is set up as main drive for installing new content. If a game which is on the internal hdd need an update you could move the game to the external drive. Than your console should be able to download new
updates. Hope that helps.

Reset doesn`t work.

copied the game from external hdd to internal and started it from there. If the problem still exists, then i`ll unplug the external and try it a last time ...
