I was in a position last year where I had to use them, and even though I paid for their highest plan (unlimited $160 a month) it was a nightmare to download games and I couldn't play any game (like Destiny) that required a low ping. I could play the game,
I just couldn't matchmake with anyone.

They are one of the best residential satellite providers, but so glad to be back to a 50/50 connection.

I think this problem get worst year to come. If US government does not put money in the side to encouraged ISP to upgrade there connection. And bring cheep and relayable internet connection. But I think that will never happen. Because company's want tones
of money in there pocket. But that my take.

  3. I am 66 years old, retired and on Social Security. Your day and evening downloads are killing my finances because the only available connection is satellite. I pay out both ends for my 15 gigs. If you good folks would please schedule the downloads from 2
AM to 7 AM EDT or install a download scheduler clock, my XBOX1 problems would be resolved. I do not want to give up my XBOX1 but like MANY other good people we are not independently wealthy, so please give us a little help.

This leads me to believe your son is playing online matches, otherwise you could just "Go Offline" to play. Personal belief is to ban satellite uses from playing any online game. The average ping of satellite is 850m.s.! I've played games with people in
other countries where latency was slightly over 200m.s., and that was no fun; can't imagine what it would be like to to be in a match with it approaching 2000m.s..

Exede ISP - 650,000 customers - Free Zone (un-metered usage) 12AM-5AM - No option to schedule update downloads? Disappointing MS!

Just as disappointing is when my son wants to play a game, and the system says "Halo 5 requires an update" then I've got to explain why he can't play the game until tomorrow, and plan on a late night.

I hope you get it sorted, but I also hope there comes more ISP competition in your area.

In the UK there is a lot of competition and now its rare to have data caps unless its something like mobile or boat interent, or its a very very cheap package.

    Thanks for the suggestions all.

It's playing with fire trying/trusting the auto-power-off method.

My average browsing uses 5GB/mo and the XB1 downloads consistently pull 4.1GB/hr between 12-5AM.

Translation - a single hour-and-a-half mistake of non-off-peak downloading and I'm done for the month.
