Excessive rarity of Ancient Cities for mediocre loot

I’m gonna be honest, after checking out the loot from several ancient cities in creative mode, I am not impressed. I did this after seven hours of searching for cities that led to me finding eight or more Deep Dark biomes, but no cities.

For the insane difficulty of finding them, the loot is nothing crazy.

Swift sneak is nice… kinda… for ancient cities, which you probably won’t come back to after you get the enchantment.

Otherside is absolutely fire… but can be obtained from dungeons and strongholds too.

A recovery compass is cool… but you aren’t guaranteed eight shards per city, plus it’s useless for hardcore players.

Music disc “5” is cool… but same problem as the recovery compass, you might loot a city and not get 9 fragments.

God apples are always nice, no complaints there.

It also just feels very much unfinished. A secret hidden room at the center of the city that rewards players with… absolutely NOTHING????? Like what???

A statue above it with a rectangular frame of an unobtainable block? Yeah yeah yeah it’s a portal blah blah you’ve heard it before but it’s possible who knows.

Either way, just imagine FINALLY, after hours and hours of searching, finding an ancient city, just to get no Otherside disc, no 5 disc, no swift sneak, and no recovery compass. Yes, you can get unlucky with, say, end cities, and not get an elytra, but the difference is those are downright plentiful in comparison to the ancient cities.

Just my two cents. Am I the only one who was underwhelmed by ancient cities?
