It is true that more updates don't always equate to more HDD space being used up

From my prespective based on the games that I've played (Destiny and Halo 5: Guardians), updates have always led to the game eating up more HDD space.

I've got the game and quite like it but I do think them keeping it for sale at the moment is a mistake. They are now making the console users wait for the large patch they've been promising for months as it's tied to this F2P update. It's only going free
on PC for now which is really a total kick in the proverbials for console users, especially as it's generally a bigger player base on consoles than PC, so they are effectively making the people who've supported them the most wait for the new and improved update.

Anyway hopefully if they pull it off then it will revive the game, it's got a steep learning curve but is really a good laugh once you get to grips with it.

Just not my type of game. Had a friend that wanted to give me his extra code and turned it down; now if they paid me...

"Well it's good that maps were free at least. Still, I decided to boycott this with my wallet. I still think selling all that cosmetic stuff even though it's not needed is dodgy. Just my opinion."

I can respect that opinion for sure. But I have to say that I prefer the cosmetic stuff over map packs and other game content being paid. I know some who are totally against this set-up:

1) A game have a ton of cosmetic dlc for sale day one or at any time. But all map packs and actual game content is free.

Then at the same time they buy games and are fine with this:

2) A game that has a season pass as well as map packs, etc. that are sold separately.

The issue is that the second scenario very well could fracture the community and it does quite often. And is harder on smaller community games. The first scenario is just things that are not needed and do not change the game or give anyone and advantage.
So it keeps the community together while still provided the $$ that are needed to provide more content. That is why I prefer the first option. Plus, I never buy these cosmetic items so no loss for me.
