Evolve Had Gone Gold PLUS...

Just like in any other game, everyone is going to suck in the beginning (especially at lower levels). So I wouldn't worry about playing with randoms. You'll most likely make some friends that way, and everyone will evolve (pun intended) in map/environment
knowledge, game play mechanics and skill sets together.

 

My prediction is this will be a complete flop on consoles but a hit with the PC players - just doesn't suit the console players genre enough. Such a shame because I think it could be a great game as was L4D but the general console public didn't stick with
it and it slowly fizzled with people trolling the game in coop and versus was usually a whitewash one side or another.

Also think the Beta is going to be crucial for them after the flop alpha - tried so many times to get into a good stable game and failed miserably which has already tainted my opinion of the game.

 

The reason the Left4Dead games remain popular with PC players is because of the modding community. New modes, mutations, maps etc mean the experience remains fresh.

Want to fight the infected hordes at Helm's Deep? Then you can on the PC.

Evolve will remain popular on PC if it offers that same level of customisation. Somehow I doubt it though, publishers seem to have it in their heads that mods mean less DLC sales.

 

We shall see. I don't see it doing big numbers but it can be a fun game. I've been watching a lot of gameplay from Ghost and it's kept my interest, especially with Wraith, definitely my style type of monster. A lot will ride on this beta and after I will
make my decision.

Side note, L4D was great fun! Wish we could have a L4D3, it would be awesome.

 

I'm learning a lot from watching the devs (and others) play. I like...

 

^ I agree Doc watching them play is awesome but unless it's drastically changed from the Alpha it just didn't feel like that to play. I'm still very interested in the game but have big big doubts about its longevity.

 

Yep, especially today watching them wreck that prodigy dude, match after match. He's way over confident and shouldn't be. lol

I like the whole hunt, track, trap and kill aspects of it (the tools, weapons, methods, strategies); and leveling up the perks etc...

True, the longevity is a question mark. But between this and Dying Light, I'm not too concerned.

I've been watching them on Twitch. The devs (TRS) and the people they've been with have the full retail versions I'm not working today, so I'll probably jump on the beta.

Just looked on my smartglass and I see quite a few on my list playing so hopefully that means it's running pretty smooth.

 

I know it's a beta but ***, this game needs some optimisation. The frame rate, at least when playing as a hunter fluctuates too much for my liking.

Now that I've gotten my hands on it, it's okay. It's fun, but also kind of frustrating when the tracker can't track and you spend all your time looking for the monster. Mean while he's evolving before you even see him once. I can see people dropping out
as soon as he hits level 3, if minimal damage has been done to him. At least 50% of the matches I've been in it takes forever to find him...which makes for a very boring game. I don't know...

Then again, it can be very fun. So we'll see. This is just the beta.

 

Right after I posted that ^ I got into a lobby and had about 7-8 good/solid matches in a roll. No one left, and everyone knew what they were doing. Now that was a blast!
