October 21st

Does anyone know if this game has any sort of SP campaign or is it all online/co-op?

Maybe at E3.

But the way,they design Evolve,i don't think,there will be a solo campaign....But i might be wrong.

 

Not sure about a SP campaign but there will be some back stories (suppose to learn more at E3). One good thing I like is that you'll be to play solo (or with friends) against the AI to try out new characters and monsters.

I'm with 24 on this. I need to see more to be drawn into this.

 

I'll be passing on this. Not that it doesn't have appeal to me per se. But I just feel that they've put a little too much emphasis on the teamwork aspect for it to be successful playing with randoms.

To me, that says you will either;

Always have to have at least 3 other friends that have the game and want to play when you do, lest you give a significant advantage to the monster.

Always end up playing the monster... if you will even have that choice in mm?

End up not playing the game as much as you'd like.

DGMW, I like the whole concept of the game and it does look like fun. I just think the circumstances that need to be met in order to enjoy the game are restrictive enough that I doubt it will make the investment worthwhile.

What about people who prefer single player? Should they be interested at all, or is this very much for multiplayer enthusiasts first and foremost?

I don't know, I wouldn't really say that. We've got stuff built in for the person that doesn't, for whatever reason, want to go online and play against other people: the Hunters - we've got stuff in there so you can kind of go in and experience them just
by yourself and learn about them, and you'll get a light narrative that goes along with it. It's not your typical big, eight-hour crazy-*** story but yeah.

And then, in addition to that as far as the way you can set up a game - if you've just unlocked a monster and you're not really sure if you want to take them online just yet, you can set up a game so that you're playing with the monster and you've got four
AI mercs that you can bash on so you can figure out how the monster rolls and vice-versa. If it's just four of your friends and you don't really want to play against another human player, you guys can go as the Hunters and set up the monster to be an AI, and
any combination of that that you can possibly think of.

We want to give people the ability to play the way they want to play - but that said, the game is always going to shine at its best in a multiplayer experience, just like Left 4 Dead; it was fun, you could play it by yourself and it was fun that way, but
to really get the maximum out of it, you had to get on there with your buddies.

 

Yes!!!!!!! Can't wait till October. It will be my biggest gaming month this year by a wide margin.
