evidence xbox one is beta test

So ive been trying to watch e3 since the minute it started at 12:30 EDT and since then have had buffering issues and sometimes a translators voice is overlayed on top so I cant even understand wtf is being said by the people on stage. At one point
it was echoing so bad like a broken record I had to shut down and restart.

PS. if backwards compatibility was possible in the 1st place like we all knew it was but xbox wanted to force people to pay for new games because they a corrupt greedy ***. why not have it at original launch on the first day edition? for fox sake
they didnt even have voice messages. these details further support the fact that the xbox one has been an unannounced beta test along with broken games (halo MCC). Instant switching is a complete joke and this xbox probably has less proccessing power then
my smartphone (s5) Within the next year I gaurentee the announce of an xbox one elite to go along with the modded controller that has better proccessing power and free of major bugs and glitches. Did people really forget about the red rings of death at 360
launch??? it took them like 5 years to launch the slim edition that was a finished polished product, so we can only expect the same to happen with the one and we already see things pointing in that direction.

Xbox One beta tester

I hope nothing happens to the One, I hope it works perfectly for many, many years, but the first 6 months to a year is the beta test to determine if MS hasn't produced another faulty launch console. I can already guarantee you not a single feature is going
to work the way MS and early adopters hope they will work, not for most users, at least. I can see half a dozen, or more, system updates happening in the first 6 to 12 months, not including the initial update. Thanks MS, but I'll wait until the inevitible
redesign and price drop.

The way the Xbox One functions is completely different than the Xbox 360. I assume they wanted to ensure the 360 emulator was going to run fine on the Xbox One, party and game chat worked properly, and ensure there were no security issues. I'm sure when
the Xbox One was first released at a developer level they had backwards compatibility but if they were to release it at an unstable stage then people would be complaining that it was buggy and asking why they released something if it wasn't finished.

Same with voice messages, they wanted to ensure that voice message could be sent to 360 users with no issues. I also highly doubt your phone has more processing power than the console.

All-in-all, let's be happy that Microsoft is listening to the community and giving us what we are asking for. I would rather wait a year to have a stable service than have a somewhat working buggy version that's an embarrassment. Remember when BF4 and MCC
first came out? Those were rushed titles that we basically still in beta and it took them 4+ months to stabilize it. I would have much rather waited 3 or 4 months and had a stable version than getting frustrated with game crashes and horrible matchmaking.

You will get an Xbox message on your Xbox One if you are invited to beta test. The last update was special in that it rehauled a lot of the underlying party system, making it incompatible with the previous system. This will not be the case when moving forward,
so you should be fine partying with friends who are in the beta.

Beta testing (games, consoles, etc) USED to be a huge asset to developers, but this died somewhere between the release dates of EQ and WoW

Before: Anyone could apply to be a beta tester, but only the best got in. It helped to know someone. Applications included game experience, testing experience, NDAs and actual communication with the developers, who doubled as community managers. Bugs
got reported, suggestions were made, and things got done.

Today: Anyone can still apply, but its not really a beta. Many applications have been replaced with pre-orders, or selections are made based on forum activity. NDA's sometimes apply, but these betas are actually previews (Thanks, MS, for being the first
to call them what they truly have become). In games, 'testers' play (the best the devs hope for is stress testing their servers), and of those 'testers', most don't post or report a thing, and of those who do, only 10-20% actually report bugs or provide feedback.
In many cases, public discussion is encouraged, in order to boost potential sales.

I'm an elder geek. I come from a day when patching software was unthinkable; when products HAD to work on release, because the consumer would return it for refund, or would spread the word not to buy it in the first place. Now we've advanced ourselves
to the point were products are released incomplete, and developed in the post-consumer market. Ironicly, I type this post on my X1...

TLTR? In short, buy any game. You're now a beta-tester. If you're interested in becoming a participant in the X1 Preview program, I believe they have closed applications at this time (we had a small window of 'bring your friends in', but thats gone, now).
I'm sure that, when the need arises, MS will make a public announcement for applicants.
