Everything is slow?

I've had my Xbox One since launch day, and my main frustration is that everything is slow. No, not just downloads and installations (Game installations from the disc take hours upon hours upon hours, and strangely, game updates take even longer sometimes).
I mean everything. When I go to my Friends app, it takes several seconds to load, and sometimes just shows an error that it can't load the app ... try again later. (a common problem with most apps) I try to snap TV, and it probably takes 10 seconds to bring
up the snap feature and load the TV picture. I could go on and on.

I don't have any friends with an Xbox One, so I don't know - is this normal? The Xbox One is supposed to be a next-gen console, but the loading times and performance are steps backwards.

Now, I will say that my internet connection is bad, because I have not been able to ever load a video on any app without it stopping to buffer 2-5 seconds in. So I'm wondering - are the slow loading times for apps just results of poor WiFi connection, or is
there something wrong with my Xbox? Or is it normal?

I just logged into my husbands who also has not been signed in for over a year and all his friends, gamerscore etc is showing?

I am global pitbabe but for some reason shows me as someone different?

I am using same email address etc, this is to weird...

I agree everything seem painfully slow. I am however on a highspeed connection. For a bran new system this just seems painfull I hope this is just a first time thing and gets better with time.

 

Don't forget, the Xbox is an all-in-one entertainment console that does many things at once. It's possible it can get hung up closing apps and will cause the console to slow down. Now, this is purely speculation...and I'm not trying to justify the slowness,
I'm just trying to rationalize the possibility. Anyway, I'm hoping that this gets fixed.

The problem I'm having with my console is as soon as something is downloaded from the queue, there is like 5-10 seconds where my cursor won't move and the interface freezes up.

 

These seem to be minor hiccups at the moment. I also have noticed some freezing when return to the home screen and the cursor delay. They have only been present on my console over the last 48hrs since my console updated. This would suggest a minor bug which
will most likely fixed quickly with a future system update. Previous to that have not had any slow down issues and have noticed UI becoming more fluid and faster with each update. Rdog 11 your internet connection will be playing a part with your console taking
its time to install games and apply updates. You can try power cycling your console as it might help with speeding up snapping apps and so forth. My console is nearly always on due to foxtel running through it so I usually power cycle mine once a week just
to give it a little reboot. if you haven't power cycled before turn off your console let it power down completely, then hold your finger on the power button for 8-10 seconds then release, wait a second then power your console back on. I hope this at least
resolves some of your issues. Please don't hesitate to contact support if your still not happy with how your xbox performs...
