Everything is gone!

Yesterday, my 360 ran like a dream. It played Skyrim perfectly and I had no trouble. This morning, on the other hand...

Turned on my 360. 360 froze after I played around with my avatar a little bit. Okay, nothing new. Turn it off. Turn it on again. Screen goes directly to dashboard as it should....but there's a problem. My avatar isn't there. My themed background isn't there.
Okay, so I go to sign in. NO PROFILES. Okay, let's go check my storage device. Instead of what I called it, I get this "UNFORMATTED" looking back at me. ALL of my stuff is gone. My themes, my avatar, my saved games, my downloads...it's like my 360 performed
a factory reset without manual input. It's utterly bizarre and really *** me off.

How can a console play beautifully one day, and the next be a complete and utter *** of epic proportions? I just don't get it. There were no strange sounds. There were no flashing lights. I didn't receive any error messages. All I did was turn on my 360.

Lovebombay, i called xbox . they said i should check out the epic forums. they said i should mail xbox . they said i should talk to the guys on the xbox forums here. and NOW you're telling me i should go do this stupid cycle all over again? and what kind
of answer is that BUY MW3 & forget about gears ?? if you cant think of a remotely useful answer why are you wasting time posting this completely unhelpful reply?

 

It sounds more like the hard drive went bad, not the console itself. Things like that can happen out of the blue. You can still redownload your profile and any content you've purchased, but unless you had your saves stored on the cloud or backed up somewhere
else, those are gone.

 

I have had the exact same problem today. Everything worked perfectly yesterday, now I have nothing. It's an internal hard drive as well!!! Seriously pi$$ed off right now!!!!!

 

Same thing happened here. Was working fine, then last night turned it on and no profiles, no saves, no anything on the hard drive. It says I only have 6 gigs a available, so all my saves are still in there, but no games, or profiles are coming up. Have been
trying to re download my profile and it says can't download any profiles right now, to try again later. Any ideas???
