  2. I can understand that 2 year old template question(s) if you are trying to find what the problem is, the problem is not the internet, not the ethernet cable, not the router, because if it was, your other devices (PC, phone, laptop, etc) would also be affected,
    so despite the technical conversations/advise none of that will do anything because thats not the problem. It's really not that complicating, EVERYTHING was working before the update. What xbox is not acknowledging is that the problem is with the update they
    released! it was not tested thoroughly enough and pretty much caused some kind of virus they can't seem to figure out which makes our xbox unplayable until they fix it. Sorry I understand you reps are trying to buy time by asking us to do all these technical
    things which won't fix anything, but c'mon just be honest and let us know how long it's going to be until you guys figure out the virus and things go back to normal?

  3. your wrong here , as I said some ON THIS FORUM have fixed this by just going to a wired connection , several others have fixed this by doing DHCP reservation , the best fix imo is to get a proper router for gaming as 99% of people affected have crappy isp
    gateways ...but wait on MS if that's what you want...

    What I am saying is that the update definitely caused an issue preventing a good wifi or connection period, and you guys are not acknowledging that the update is the problem. Now to suggest customers to buying a gaming router or to have to find a way to
    make a wired connection because of the problem with the update isn't a good way of getting out content because we now don't have a choice but to try to figure out a different way just to play xbox. Just overall not a good experience. Makes it scary to accept
    updates from you guys. May as well say "When you accept this update it may cause problems with your connection, and if it does unfortunately it may be because of the equipment your ISP provided since the update, sorry you now have to try a wired connection
    or purchase a gaming router." Very frustrating but can't do much about it right.

  5. After 5 years of perfect Xbox Live connection, always Open NAT, 40+ MB down, never lagging, apparently my 'crappy' router needs replacing because of a broken update. Righto.

  6. I'm not "you guys" as in Microsoft , I'm just a fellow gamer that has been doing this since , well probably before you were born , and yes , the routers your isp's give out are made to do everything , that dosent mean they do everything well (and your paying
    more for it than you would if you bought your own) I have been blaming this on the update from the get go , I'm just trying to get people back online until MS does or dosent come out with a fix , people can try things or not , me and my son live on xbox so
    I don't care if I have to stand on the roof with a coat hanger in the snow to connect , if trying a wired connection or changing some router settings is to big a hassle , then don't do it...if you want to complain , call MS because they rarely if ever read
    these threads and the whining is falling on deaf ears...

    The problem was not my router Bimnog. It was working till I installed the big november update. After that, my connection was terrible. I tried lots of things, but the only thing that helped was installing yet another update (the one with around 330 MB).
    Now everything is working again. So it is not a router problem at all. It was something software related.

  9. It was or still is something software related that affected certain kinds of routers that isp's give out , me and all my friends get the same updates as everyone else , none of us were affected (large group of friends for a long time going back years , we
    all have good routers after getting tired of not being able to connect or one guy joins and another gets kicked ) 100 percent of the threads on this issue were from people with isp gateways , go back 10 pages of threads , LONG before the update , on connection
    problems of ANY kind and see how many start with " I have my own modem and a Netgear/Linksys router " not many... , isp's can be tweeked sometimes with static ip's , port forwards , dmz , but overall they are at the root of most if not all connection
    problems on xbox live , if xbox lives software is difficult to handle (it is obviously ) then all the more reason to have something that will handle it

    Day 7(ish) still without proper service...

    Going to Best buy to get a Router- I wonder what else that have there....

    two questions

    1) when did this 330 mb update come out - I'm not sure I received it

    2) any recommendations on what kind of router to get? I'm in the PacNW on Comcast/xfinity FWIW

    Motorolla SB6141 modem with netgear N600 Wireless router

    it all works fine now.

    Look like the solution to poor internet connectivity with the new XB1 OS is to upgrade to better Modem/WiFi Router

    ok, so I already post this elsewhere, so do not shoot the messenger if you already read it! I had the same connection problem since the recent upgrade (ugly IMHO) and after several attempts to fix it, I was suggested to add an ethernet cable between xbox
    and router 1670A. before that the system was connected via a wireless system. after power synch both xbox and router, it worked fine for a couple of hours, then went to sleep, and I am going now to get back on it. it seems to demonstrate that the issue is
    less about the router itself than the new upgrade messing up with wireless connection. deleting profiles seems to be a very wrong solution as it does not help with the connection issue, which will be a problem when trying to get the profile to download again.
    I hope this is clear enough, questions are welcomed! I agree with mondrago85: give us back the same plug & play experience than before the upgrade!

    Still Broken.

    by a stoke of luck I was able to sign in last night.

    It still fails about 80% signing in on on start-up

    but since the tech here on Chat told me to remove my profile - every game I try to play needs to pull a full sync of the cloud data. 3 attempts and 65 minutes later and I was able to get my Game of thrones file.

    Tried for an hour to sync Forza6 data - no luck failed twice. I gave up.

    Please keep in mind every other device in my network is performing flawlessly, PCs tablets Phones even the XBOX 360!

    Also, I had the perfect "control" with a new Xbox one, new in the box. I plugged that in, it ran the set up and it had the same problem. - it's worse that useless because it doesn't have any games DL'd on it. It is unplugged from power.

    What a lame way to spend the holiday weekend
