Everything internet related is slow or does not work since I updated

This post is 2 years old. My problems begun after updating two weeks ago. As it seems many people have got internet related problems as well. Why should the problems be somewhere else and not in the Xbox update? I am tired of trying different things. Now
it seems that going offline and online again helps somehow, but just some minutes. After 2, 3 minutes it looses the connection again.

Can I downgrade? I hate the new update. Everything was much better before I updated. For me it seems as you had a big problem with your network drivers (windows 10 works great on my PCs)

Xbox Live all of the sudden won't connect or the connection speed is realy slow

This is happening to me also everything Xbox related is so slow and takes minutes to do. But only things like signing in or accessing internet.

Wumbo, I did everything you said correctly, but yet IT DID NOT *** WORK. Either my XBox is screwed or my internet is just retardedly slow.

No, downgrading is not an option. Some have had issues and working through the various troubleshooting steps have helped. In order to get assistance you must be willing to provide information requested and try the steps provided.

 

I've tried everything posted on the forums (restarted router many times, restarted xbox many times, i tried wlan, i tried ethernet, i set the xbox offline and then online, ...) Maybe I did not explain it right. I get an internet connection after some of
these things, but after some minutes the Xbox disconnects. My last try was to set a static address and dns server. This was my best try till now. I could watch 20 minutes a film on Amazon Pime till I got a disconnect (again :-( ).

For testing that it has nothing to do with my network I started another film on an android tablet. It plays and plays with no interruption.

When it disconnects it takes ages to connect again. And it does not get it automatically, i always need to restart, and do all kind of voodoo things for it to work!!!

Again: everything was working perfectly before the update

 

I renamed my xbox and it helped with part of the problem but there is still major issues with this update. Try renaming it and see what happens

 

Yesterday my XBox worked for 2 hours without interruption!!! It is too soon to say if my problems are gone, but it is some progress. I think that something is still wrong because I had to modify my network settings to use static ip addresses. I already tried
it before, but this time it worked more than the 20 minutes.

I don't know if this helps you, but the XBox had the wrong IP mask before I used the static addresses.

My network uses IPs in the range 192.168.178.*, but the XBox had 192.168.0.23.

 

Ok. This was not the solution. I started my Xbox some minutes ago and it does not get any network connection. Nat-type is medium. My router is a FritzBox 7390. No other Xbox is connected to it. Just some PCs and tablets.

As every day it takes ages till it gets the connection. My son kept trying when I was writing this and now it got a connection (around 15 minutes!!!!)

 

Same issue here, Desperately trying to find help here.

at least when I could sign in I could play my games offline now it's all behind the xbox choking on internet.

@Mondrago85 - Can you enable "Advanced View" on your FritzBox and make sure "Teredo filter enabled" is disabled.

What was the update for is there was one a week ago ?

 

Hey will changing my Xbox dns to lets say Google improve online gaming?

 

@taidara: I cannot find anything called teredo. And with the static ip my mask is 255.255.255.0, but when the ip was automatically set it used 255.255.0.0 (the xbox being the only one device using this mask).

Update: today I started my xbox and I waited some minutes before using it... and it works!

It seems that using a static ip helps, but I must be patient and wait because it takes a long time before it connects. Of course I cannot always wait 15 minutes before using my Xbox. Maybe this information helps finding the problem

 

OK, almost a week now.

After the tech here told me to remove my profile I have been unable to even log in.

My entire living room is a wasteland - perhaps I should set up a basketball hoop?

It is NOT fixed with a full wipe BTW - I happened to have another XB1 in a box, plugged it in, it updated to panama and now it too is useless.

I have two xboxes, one living room and nothing to do tonight.

I might have to take up knitting...

At this point I just want somebody to say, "yep, we got a problem and are working through the holiday, nobody in Redmond will sleep until our customers are happy, wait for the next update..."
