Everything getting usual internet except Xbox One

I recently decided to try fixing the issues with the internet on my Xbox One. In the past, I had forward my ports like the instructions recommended online, my NAT is 100% of the time. My internet is 20 down/2 up using the Linksys E1500. I recently figured
out how to place a static IP on my Xbox using the router config.

I was crashing on Destiny usually with the "weasel" code constantly, often before I could even go to the tower. Once I got a static IP I changed channels for the WiFi on my router which 100% fixed Destiny. However, I was now getting constant crashes on Party
Chat & games with P2P coop like Sniper Elite Afrika. Last night I changed channels once more from 9 to 4 which I believe has 100% fixed everything. There were no crashes in games or party chat last night.

Not only did I have no crashes from going from channels 9 to 4 on my router but I went from 76% wireless to 100%. My router is in the room directly under mine. While not on my floor it is only like four feet under it.

My last issue would be the internet on my Xbox One. My PC which is right next to my Xbox One gets like 18Mb down/ over 2 Mb up. My Nexus 7 tablet's internet is near that, I watch HD video on it fine. My Xbox One takes like one hour per GB for downloads.
It's tough to watch HD video or use Crackle, either I have poor video or freezing constantly.

I do not experience lag online playing games which is nice though. The internet, under network, is giving me only 2-3 Mb though even though I get the full 2Mb up which I pay for.

How is the Xbox only getting 2 down but getting the full 2 up? I'm out of ideas right now.

I'm very happy to have fixed the party chat crashes plus the constant Destiny crashes but why is the Xbox only getting 10% of my internet?

black ops 2 has been having trobuel im wired and even im getting lag so not much you can do i dnt think for black ops2 till they fix it . are you having the same issues with any other game though

Hey so I have a really odd problem so I will try to be in detail. My internet connection works fine wired and wirelessly for all of my devices except my Xbox. This happened very randomly, I have been playing on a wireless connection on my Xbox for
years. then all of a sudden about two nights ago I wouldn't stop lagging. My connection on Black Ops 2 when I looked at it would go to a 4 bar and very quickly go to a 1 bar, and repeat this. Again, I have had a solid four bar wireless connection on my Xbox
for a long time this happened very randomly. I have made sure it is the right ip and entered it manually. I have reset to factory defaults, no luck. I have tried putting in my MAC address/ physical address, no change. It also says my NAT is open, and I don't
seem to have trouble finding games so I am very stumped. Please if you have any ideas hit me up, I use my Xbox a lot and this is kind of frustrating.

 

2.4Ghz wifi which going by the channel numbers you are using is crap.

That band is usually so congested for most people that it is impossible to get the full speed of your internet connection.

You would need to keep changing the channels again until you find one that works better.

Alternatively if your router is a dual band one and has a 5Ghz mode then you should use that. 5Ghz is rarely congested and using that can get you the full speed of your connection.

I get the same problems as you with 2.4Ghz mode. But with 5Ghz mode I get full speed.

If you don't have a dual band router though then you should try using wired. Even moving your xbox near the router temporarily just to test wired will tell you if the problem is caused by wireless. Once confirming that the problem is caused by wireless you
could get powerline homeplug adaptors which will allow you to use wired by basically converting your electrical wiring into an Ethernet connection.

 

Hey that's happ to me to. My speedtest on laptop gets me 180 MB download and 15mb upload but when I run a test on Xbox I get way below that. I'm only getting 50mb down and 14 MB up

 

Thanks for the reply. I've got more info I need to figure out how to go wired, perhaps you could help. The modem from the internet provider is going directly into the router (2.4 only) in our laundry room downstairs. Next to it we have the Ethernet wire
unplugged that goes to the panel going off to the various wall outlets in our home.

The internet provider told us we could only have the modem go in the wall ports for wired or into the router for WiFi only. However, could I put the router upstairs plunged in the wall while having the modem power the outlets? Would the router need to be
directly connected to the modem? If I could do that then my Xbox would be wired but I could continue to use tablets or my phoned on WiFi.

 

I've got terrible internet connection speed, disconnects all over the place since I installed the last updates. Before that everything was working!!!! What an incredible quality :-(

 

I tried plugging the Ethernet that goes into the outlets in the house in the router, then plugging my Xbox into the outlet in my room. The next thing I guess would be to find one of the newer routers that has dual band.

 

I'm actually a bit confused on how you have it connected.

You normally connect your router to the modem then for wired you connect an Ethernet cable to one of the Ethernet ports on the router.

Can't you leave the router connected to the modem then connect the router to one of the wall outlets via Ethernet. then connect the xbox to the wall outlet in your room?

To add to your query about a newer router. Yes, you would definitely have better service if you went with one of the newer/better dual band routers. They have newer technology and provide much better service than older routers do.

 

I wasn't getting internet when I tried plugging the outlet cord into the router. I'm trying to get to internet tech out to get the option for it though.
