Every time I try to download an app on Xbox or Microsoft store on my D drive it wont work -...

All of my Microsoft and Xbox games are downloaded on my external drive including the previous Horizon, which is Forza Horizon 4. I changed where new apps are stored when downloaded from the Microsoft store to my external drive but it still wont download Forza Horizon 5 to my external drive. On the Xbox app it wont show my external drive as an option to download to. I am able to download any game from the Microsoft store and Xbox app to my external drive except Forza Horizon 5.

So i have installed forza on the D drive and also changed the default drive for apps to D but it still opens for one second and then closes again.

I also moved Sea of Thieves to D and then i didnt work anymore so i moved it back on C and now its working fine again.

It wont be a problem if my C drive were bigger but i can not have both at the same time on it.

I tried like every Youtube Tutorial and every thread i could find.

Sadly it still isnt Working for me

(I actually had not installed the xbox beta app so i installed it on D wich is default now and is also not starting)

I am trying to install games and apps onto my D drive instead of C drive through the Xbox app and Windows store on Game pass.

I get a notification when going to install the game, asking which drive to install to, and instruct it to install to the D drive

Every time though, it ignores this and installs to me C drive.

If I try to move the app through settings, the "Moving" notification and progress bar appears for a split second before disappearing, with no error information, but not having moved the file.

There are some apps that are installed on my D drive, and the pattern seems to be apps that require Admin approval are the ones not install onto my D drive.

Could someone try and resolve the issue, as it's incredibly frustrating for a service that is no longer in beta.

Thanks for the reply. When I go to download a game from the Microsoft store it asks me to select a drive. I do and it says installing for about 30 seconds to a minute and then nothing happens. I did this with two games. Trying to download them from both the Xbox app and the Microsoft store, There's nothing wrong with my laptop because I can download games from steam perfectly fine. In the settings games are set to download in my D drive which has plenty of space. Also saving things like pictures also works perfectly fine.

Yes I download the Xbox app from this xbox website https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-pc.

I installed the app using their xboxinstaller.exe installer.

I think its installed in C drive, the installer just run itself and never once allow me to select which drive to install the app.

On the question of game bar download issue, I found that when I first notice xbox app uninstall itself, the "Xbox game bar" would not work.

Every time I press Win+G a window would pop up saying "you'll need a new app to open this ms-gamingoverlay link" and it make me go look it up at

microsoft store. Even when I have Xbox app downloaded Xbox game bar would not work.

When I try to download it from the store, it would get stuck on download.
