Last month, I bought a brand new Xbox One S. Ever since I created my NEW account on the NEW console, I've been unable to send messages. The error comes up as "Check your account... Messaging isn't working for your account. 'Go to ...'" Then,
today, I tried messaging online on my PC, but it said that my account had been suspended due to past behaviors, even though it's been like this since the second I made my account. I am sure that I have not done anything wrong. I am extremely sorry if there
is another post just like this; I searched for everywhere just to make sure. Thank you for your time.

Am I screwed? suspended live account

I used a prepaid debit card that had $1 left on it to sign up for one of the "free month of xbox live" since I knew it was an auto-pay scam.
I thought once the month was up it would just drop me back to Silver since there were no funds.

But they suspended my account, so now I can't do anything online with my account, including redownload games I already bought.

Is there anyway I can change my account to silver instead of a suspended gold account without paying MS's extortion, or am I screwed?

My account was suspended

My xbox account is suspended untill 5/4/2012 witch is today i cant check my aim account i dont remember my password i made one for yahoo but cant change it i tried to switch emails. My account was supposed to be off suspention but its not. Xbox sent a email to me old email at aim.com but i dont use that email i use yahoo i still dont know the reason for being suspended

Any idea's?

Sorry to hear about the issue sending messages. Are you posting from the new account as well? Do you currently have Xbox Live Gold as well? If so, when did you add the subscription to your account? Sometimes it can take 24 hours to activate through the system.

Sorry I am so late. Yes, this is the new account. I did have Xbox Live Gold at the time of this post and ever since, and I added the subscription the day after I created the new account.

Thanks for the info, what does the error specifically state? Are you seeing an error code associated with it as well? If you check commerce/microsoft.com are you seeing any pending or open balances on your subscription? This could also cause an issue, so
you'll want to double check that.

Definitely, I've only ever used this account. It's been my Xbox account since 2008 when I got my Xbox 360.

Is it possible someone from Microsoft could look into this?

The "alias" Xbox came up with was something tied to my wife's Zune--bought many, many years earlier. It was never (ever) depicted (or identified) as a "gamer tag". How or why that alias was levied as a gamertag tonight, is completely unknown.

I've never been given (or chosen) a gamertag.

Ever. Until I tried to change the "value" Xbox was using from my Microsoft account related to my wife's Zune.

Essentially, I felt robbed of my choice to have been given one--but instead was forced to pay for the very first gamertag I ever created.
