Your Socialite achievement popped because you started playing online recently (this year) AFTER the "fix" from Epic was initiated. The "fix" automatically grants you 29 out of the 30 events so that if you play one game online (versus, horde, beast), you
will get credit for the current event and your special events counter will go to 30, unlocking the achievement.

Unfortunately, people like Billargh are stuck in a sort of limbo because he and others like him have not played Gears 3 online regularly, so he has no idea which events he is missing or if they will ever cycle around again for him to receive credit for a
previous event that he has not played yet to be able to unlock the achievement.

Before the "fix", you got credit for playing in a special event no matter what versus game mode you played (including public horde and beast) every weekend... or week that the event was going on. Epic, however only coded 34 unique ribbons that count towards
the Socialite achievement and you could only earn that ribbon ONCE. So, if you missed an event ribbon one week, you have to wait 34 freakin' weeks for the event to cycle around again. To add to the problem, there is absolutely no way to tell which special
event ribbons you've earned and which ones you still need so people could at least plan to play one online game whenever the event does come back around.

The other major problem with the system is that Epic does not update the events regularly anymore. Ideally, the 34 events should cycle every week, but there have been some events that have not changed in over three weeks. This further frustrates people
who play sporadically and makes the achievement that much more unobtainable.

My only advice to Billargh is to just keep playing one online versus game once per week. Hopefully the lazy *** at Epic will eventually change the event and he'll get it on the next one.

Yes! I've had this for a while now, and it's been getting worse and worse. Even on days when there are no events going on, it's getting very hard to find a time to get in. During an event, it's worse - especially when you're in a groove solving them -
and then have to stop because it's time for an ad - you get dropped out - and can't get back in. I thought paying for the ads was just to save time - not to even be able to play the games.

If MS Support fixed this then I want to say THANKS. If the instructions at http://www.thewindowsclub.com/reset-windows-store-cache fixed it when I typed command WSReset.exe was the trick then I still want to say THANKS because the EVENTS are back. Problem
resolved.

Here is my question about this Gears Event. Once I play once it will give me credit towards the ribbon can I go back and play the same event again and still get credit towards the ribbon. The reason I am asking is because in the last Gears event I played
the event over and over and it gave me credit .
