Even after setting my home Xbox, my alternate account is unable to play online

Even though your secondary account has access to Game Pass games, it looks like the issue is with multiplayer permissions, which depend on Xbox Live Gold (included in Game Pass Ultimate) and how the home console is set.

I recommend:

1. Make sure the Xbox One (where the secondary account plays) is set as the home console for the account that has Game Pass Ultimate.

Go to: Settings > General > Personalization > My home Xbox.

2. Sign in with the Game Pass account in the background while playing on the secondary account, at least once, so that all the permissions sync correctly.

3. On the secondary account, check if there are any privacy or parental controls enabled:

Go to Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy.

4. Make sure multiplayer and online play are allowed.

5. Double-check that both consoles are connected to the internet and that you are signed in with the correct accounts.

6. If nothing works, try removing the secondary account from the console, restart the Xbox, and add it back again.

Hi there, I believe so as long as your console is set to the 'Home' setting, alternatively you can allow purchases on the child's account by changing their privacy and security options.

Home setting:

Hi thank you for the reply. Unfortunately this hasn't worked, I removed and re-added both my account and my brothers account and made sure that the xbox was still set as my home xbox but we are still unable to play online using my brothers account.

His account is on my Xbox. My account is on his Xbox. My Xbox is set as his home Xbox and his Xbox is set as my home Xbox. He still has Gold as he's able to play online but for some reason I still can't.
