    Europe Service Centre - postage cost


    I want someone from Microsoft to explain why customers are being asked to pay for their own shipping costs, for accessories which need repair under warranty. In order to post a faulty wireless controller from the UK to Czech Republic it costs
    MORE than buying a new controller outright from a retailer.

    Why do MS only cover postage costs for the console itself, whenever items such as the controller and kinect are intrinsic to the whole package?

    This is a huge let down after owning the first xbox console as well as 360. All in all I've spent a lot of money over the last decade or more on MS products, but the way we are being treated now is absolutely scandalous. It is clear from other posts on the
    forum that the controller is not up to scratch, and considering the 3 Xbox 360 controllers are all still working from 2006/07 its apparent that the manufacturing process is not of the required standard.

    In 5 months I have had 2 pads with broken left thumb-sticks.

    I'd like to hear from one of of the MS representatives on the support forum to explain why this policy of returns exists.

    Hi, that is indeed the set cost for an out of warranty repair. That price includes postage to and from the repair centre along with any and all parts that may need to be replaced.

    what gets me in the how to get a warranty service it states in section D) REASONABLE COSTS WITH TRANSPORT (INCLUDING PACKAGING ) FOR WARRANTY SERVICE WILL BE BORNE BY MICROSOFT IF THE XBOX ONE OR ACCESSORY IS COVERED BY THE EXPRESS WARRANTY OR ANY STATUTORY
    WARRANTY >>>>>> WELL ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE CENTRE ONLINE MY REPLACEMENT CONTROLLER IS THROUGH THE EXPRESS SERVICE SO WHEN WILL I BE PAID BACK FOR THE COST OF PACKAGING AND POSTAGE TO GET MY CONTROLLER TO SYDNEY OR IS THIS ANOTHER BIG FAT LIE MICROSOFT

    If you have purchased an item within the UK in the past 6 months that has turned out to be faulty, under UK law the company selling the item must pay the Post and Packaging for the return of the product. If you bought a faulty controller within the past
    6 months you can send it back for free.

    Microsoft try and get you to pay a 'voluntary fee' to help them with the return of the product, but you don't have to if you live in the UK.

    A voluntary fee? That doesn't make sense, if I can't get a free postage label there's hardly an option in trying to ship it back - you either pay the postage yourself or it doesn't go anywhere.

    I had to ship a controller from the UK to the Czech service centre and it cost me a little over a fiver. Granted I just posted it 2nd class to Europe but it still got there within about 5 days and I got my replacement controller in about 20 days.
