    Ethernet Trouble


    Hey so I am trying to connect my modem to my xbox one via ethernet cable and under network diagnostics it says that it is using the wired connection but I am still noticing the same signal strength as if I was connected wirelessly. I dont know if it is just
    my Wifi in general-I use the Apple Airport Extreme-or if it is a cable problem. If you know the problem or have any ideas, please reply! Thanks!

    Does anyone else with an Xbox One X have Wi-Fi issues?

    Well idk what to tell ya. It can definitely be done to make it look good and it really shouldn’t be a lot of trouble. Back in NY, I had a 100ft Ethernet cable going from the router on the first floor to my Xbox on the third floor. Snaked it within the wall corners and bam, not even noticeable.

    Who else is sick and tired of buying half finished, practically unplayable games?

    This started since consoles with ethernet ports. Didn't have this trouble with Atari 2600.

    Oh and stream with Ethernet cable, not wifi. You don't want trouble with wifi mid-stream.

    It's absolutely can be done, but if you can, go with Ethernet is my opinion at least.

    If your physical Xbox has trouble but only with Ethernet, it could simply be your Ethernet cable? It might be damaged in some way. I've honestly had that problem before, thought "there's no way that's the problem" then it totally was.

    Hi, it's highly unlikely the console will work with that device sorry. There is an option to purchase a wireless adapter for the console.

    -

    Have you tried powering the console off, remove the power cable, press the power button several times and then reconnect the power cable and give things a try. That can sometimes work.

    -

    On another note have you tried a different Ethernet port on the hub itself, do other devices work ok when connected to the hub by Ethernet? could be the hub itself got damaged if other devices don't work either.
