    Ethernet port is dead


    Hello there,

    I bought there a year and a half
    xbox does it connects over
    the home network or no other after several attempts,
    I tried several ethernet cables and
    also to connect the game console in others,
    and by process of éliminationt I think
    the NIC is dead so I can not have access
    to my xbox live gold subscription.

    After testing support line
    it gives me an old serial number of my second
    xbox 360 died of ROD, and when
    I try to record this one what he said
    is already registered !!

    Dead ethernet port...

    Converting to a wireless adapter if possible would be the best move. They aren't too expensive right now and in the name itself, is wireless and hassle free. It takes up a USB slot but it is definitely worth it.

    i am having the same problem i will be following this thread to see if anyone can find a solution its as if my Ethernet port just shut down because no matter how many routers i use or cables the Xbox just doesn't recognize them to be there. So too those

    Technically it would probably work, but self-repair is actually against the terms of service and can put your console at risk for being banned.

    If the port is broken you have 2 options so far as I can see.

    Send it into MS for a repair, which may have a charge depending on the warranty status.

    Return it to the pop with receipt for either a replacement unit or a refund.
