  2. ethernet connection issue

    Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm at my wit's end. All day today I had been watching Sling TV on my XBOX One via a Wired Ethernet connection. then suddenly, about 2 hours ago, it randomly disconnected from the internet and xbox live. i've tried everything
i can think of to get it to reconnect to no avail. the only error that i get from time to time is "can't connect to your dhcp server." The strangest thing, is that I can connect wirelessly without issue. i've tested this several times, wired issue, wireless
no issue. I've tried the following up to this point:

Power cycle router/cable modem (its a 2 in 1 device from my isp)

    factory reset router

    Power cycle xbox one

    hard reset xbox one

disconnect power cables for ~15 minutes

    changed ports on router

    changed ethernet cable

tested all wired ports on router with laptop and different ethernet cables

setup static ip and added xb1 mac address to router client list

    used manual google dns servers

i can't find a single thing wrong with the router, cables, or network in general. only the xbox one is having the connection issue and again, that's only when it's using a wired connection. i have no problems whatsoever when used wirelessly. any ideas?
    please, and thank you!

oh, and this is a fairly new xb1 if that means anything. i just got it a month ago, its the xbox one elite. i'd like to avoid sending it in for repairs if possible, especially now during the holidays.

    Ethernet connection issue!

I had a bit of a similar issue recently. I had no issues while connected wireless but once I attached an ethernet cable I couldn't play online. Turns out it was the NAT. It was open for wireless but moderate or closed for ethernet. See if you can change
that and it should fix your issue.

    ethernet connection issue

It seems the last update affected the way the xbox and the router talk , or the way the router and the xbox live servers talk , don't know really , I do know that "2 in 1 devices from my isp" were affected the most , by FAR the most...some say wired works
now not wired , others like you say the opposite , that wireless now works and not wired ...if your comfortable doing it (if your isp dosent have it blocked) you could put the gateway in bridge mode and plug the xbox straight up and see if it works that way
