ETA Required on 0x80820002 - Fresh new console not working

It is not the August update because I was having this issue back in May/June. I purchased my console right around black friday last year. First game to ever give me fits was Call of Duty Ghosts followed by Titanfall & Forza but none of the others have
done it.

Hey folks - I haven't had this issue personally, so the following info comes with the caveat that I can't swear to it working, however, there are a NUMBER of people in the following linked thread that have had big success using a certain method. The most
common one mentioned says that if you insert a game disc until you hear the motor, and then hold it for about 1-2 seconds before letting go, the drive noise should change pitch and then draw the disc in, at which point it will read the disc properly.

The other issue, someone mentioned putting the disc in part way, then pressing the button on the drive, and it worked.

Yes, this sounds like a software issue which needs to be addressed, but maybe in the meantime, you'll be able to play using one of the suggestions!

Confirming! Yesterday tried on 3 differents console and none work. Today after reading Quimby here:

forums.xbox.com/.../4901480.aspx and confirmation from some users that on a fresh console it was working, i went pick up a 4th XBOX and it's working...

There is a second patch starting after the first one and now all game load. Go see your retailer and get a new one.!!!!

Same problem here, I only have one game disc so I am praying that it is the update. Only bought it this afternoon.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon, but as you say, I can't find any official comments on this.

scandalous customer service- same problem, new consul, received today, installed updates- rang customer support, was advised they are trying to identify any common issues- they should try reading this forum. Accept these issues can happen, however least
they should do is acknowledge issue and keep customers informed. Over £600 on consul and games, and they are simply gathering dust
