ETA Required on 0x80820002 - Fresh new console not working

We need an ETA on this matter.

I'm not asking for a fix in the next 5 minutes, just for a Microsoft official information on that matter with an ETA. We are not in the weekend, you guys are working.

We just paid 500$ for a non working console. I think its a minimum to inform your customer on what's going on.

Just bought guitar hero live and it wont read the disc

It keeps popping up with error code 0x80820002 i have returned the game and picked up a new one, ive shut down my xbox by holding the power button for 10 seconds and unplugging the power for 3 minutes and its not working. My console reads my other games
and lets me play them but 2 copies of guitar hero live and nothing is coming up on it yet. Any ideas?

 

Exact same problem here! Bought a brand new console yesterday and it won't read game discs!! It reads blu rays and CDs but just not XB1 game discs! The least we deserve is an ETA!! We didn't buy an expensive paperweight!!

 

Same problem here. I ended up with a $500 youtube player gathering dust in my shelf. This is unacceptable.

 

scandalous customer service- same problem, new consul, received today, installed updates- rang customer support, was advised they are trying to identify any common issues- they should try reading this forum. Accept these issues can happen, however least
they should do is acknowledge issue and keep customers informed. Over £600 on consul and games, and they are simply gathering dust

my day was ruined by the same issue here...the machine was delivered earlier today, i couldn't believe microsoft did this crap again...

I almost believed that i wasted all the money on this dead machine until i figured out this could be a software problem. this sucks...cuz i am living in this place that is almost impossible for me to return this console and get refund like some of the other
users.

IF this is not addressed, my money is simply gone...and will MS even pay the money back then? i could have bought a ps4, but instead i got this, because my wife was so fond of kinect, and we had been looking forward to this weekend that we can set everything
up at our new place and have fun.... and now we got this......

 

It dosnt matter if the console is new or old , its the august update that the problem . Hopefully its fixed soon for everyones sake .

 

A official acknowledgement on the problem would be nice along with an ETA on a fix. I would like to least know if its an issue due to the newest update or a bad batch of consoles. If its the consoles it sure seems like a lot of them.

Same problem here, I only have one game disc so I am praying that it is the update. Only bought it this afternoon.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon, but as you say, I can't find any official comments on this.

I've had some bad costumer service in my time, but this is a new low for me. What the hell happened with plug and play?
