ETA for the Chat Adapter & Dolby Digital update?

If the adapter is anything more than $15, it's highway robbery. They charge $25 for the official Xbox One headset. The adapter would literally just be the puck part of the headset with a 2.5mm headset jack instead of the integrated cord that runs to the
current headset.

I still can't understand why they wouldn't have something like this ready at launch. People have already shown that it's a simple (if you know how to solder) change to integrate a 2.5mm cord, and it works flawlessly.

Actually, the adapter is more than that. The current headsets and associated modded adapters only support chat audio, so they only have controls for volume / mute of chat. These headsets and the upcoming adapters support both game audio and chat (presumably
up to 7.1 game audio, based on xo7), and so have independent volume controls for both (2 extra buttons over the current headsets, most likely with more expensive internal hardware to process the extra audio info too). So 15 dollars is too cheap- how much is
a MixAmp?

I have a pair of A40s, and there is absolutely no reason that the current MixAmp coupled with an Xbox One Proprietary audio --> 2.5mm audio wouldn't work to solve the problem. The major gaming headsets (A40s and A50s for example) are already compatible with
game audio via optical out on the Xbox One, and are capable of adjusting the game volume. However, the mic and/or the chat audio is not able to be toggled solely because of the lack of a 2.5mm input on the Xbox One controller.

So yeah, $15 sounds about right to me.

Indeed you don't, but the fact that it comes in the box with the headphones means it will be shipping at the same time. Of course, they might not sell them on their own straight away :/

It's an adapter. As the entire Polk 4 Shot kit costs $160, I doubt the adapter is going to be more than $50. Figure $20-$40.

Listed mia. You should have went with a TB TANGO or 500 or 400 which imo are same or if not better quality then xo7. Your selection is a great one but you might have been able to save a buck or two for same quality.

I also have the a40. I'm no audiophile but I think it sounds great as it is already. I can't tell a difference between the sound on the xbox one and the 360 or the PC. I do think it stinks that MS couldn't just take the route of letting all usb headsets
work with their system. then it wouldn't even matter if each company made an adapter or not.

Chances are it's just a placeholder date so that people have a rough idea of when they can expect it, or even to fill an empty box when putting the info on the site.

Polk have indeed said "March 7th latest: however, they very recently started listing February 14th on their FAQ page. If Turtle Beach have delayed their release date then it's probably Microsoft's doing. I've heard that the TB headsets are all ready to ship
but awaiting licensing. If I were to take a guess I'd say that Microsoft have forced them to wait a month so that they can gain more revenue from the Polk headsets that they had so much input in.
