ESO says console requires update. Factory reset?

ESO says my console requires an update in order for me to play. I follow the instructions only to find no update available. My xboxone is fully up to date.

Ive been reading here and trying fixes for about 3 hours now. Last thing I did was delete the game from my hard drive then cleared the mac address, then cleared the cache by holding power button 10 seconds, unplug, tap pwr button several times to discharge
residual power, wait 10 minutes, and restart and re install. Didnt work. Nothing has worked.

My only choice now is to do a factory reset.

How do I do this and keep my games and saves?

If you still have not been able to receive the update, please try performing a reset to your Xbox with keeping your games and apps How to reset your Xbox console to factory defaults | Xbox Support.

If the issue persists please try checking eso support website for more information regarding the update.

when you say you've reset the Xbox I assume you are referring to restarting the Xbox.

Since that doesn't seem to work please try a factory reset (with keeping games and apps installed)

Keep in mind that this will require you to redownload your Profile and that requires the account credentials.

I would recommend a factory reset keeping games and apps as this could be a bad system update:

Settings > System > Console Info & Updates > Reset console > "keep games and apps". (account redownload required)

It's that simple

You need the update after q factory reset since you are trying to access your games

It doesn't require you to be online all the time just because you factory reset

If you have your console assigned as home then there is no issue

It's just getting your licenses and account info from the web amyways

A factory reset would've erased your games so you would've still needed to redownload them anyways

Why don't you use the offline update tool

Only disks games would.operate offline without an update and some games require updates from the web amyways

Even then you still need the day 1 update anyways

You could always call support and work with them about the update issue

If the console is enrolled in a Insider preview OS, OSU1 (offline system update) cannot be used to restore the xbox console system files.

A factory reset is your only option other than getting the console repaired.

E101 generally points to a hardware fault with the console and requires repairing if a factory reset fails.
