ESO on consoles officially delayed

You beat me to it. I just saw this myself.

So, if I have this right, I should buy an Imperial edition for my mac if i want the associated perks or just give Amazon $40 for a vanilla edition and cancel my pre-order. then give them another $20 whenever the console version ships. Or doe you think I
would have to buy the mac version from the ESO store?

That being the case, I have a question of you, Chemist. Do you think the horse and being an Imperial is worth it? I would lose only the ability to play any race in any alliance and that's not that big a deal. I don't need to play an imperial all that much
but that horse would be really nice early. Of course I also don't get the statue or the book.

New open world games seem so empty

ESO wasn't a X1 launch title it had a Xbox One release date though and was officially delayed by Zenimax.

How did MS went so long without an RPG titles from launch till the end of this summer?

The eso delay isn't an x1 delay its delayed on both. Specifically they need more time with the network for the consoles.

 

I'm not 100% sure on some of your question but personally I am going to be cancelling my pre-order on the Xbox copy at EB Games and just pay the $20 dollars to transfer. I don't think it really matters 'where' you buy your mac version from but personally
I downloaded it from the ESO store so they have a record of it. The horse is definitely nice to start off with though I can say that much. I saved up for a black horse and it was pretty tough.

 

Saw that, now I probably won't even bother until it becomes free to play. By the time its out for Xbox one, better games might be out.

I thought about it a bit and decided to go ahead and cancel my pre-order and get the (much cheaper) plain vanilla mac edition from Amazon. When the console version is released i will get a console to play it on. I am still considering a PS4 though since
there is no extra subscription for it and I am still curious about FF XIV. Now I just need to see how comfortable I can make my computer since it will have to work for the next 6 months.

 

I have an Xbox one and have pre-ordered ESO for the Xbox One. Should i cancel this order? bearing in mind i have no PC and so the PC version isnt really an option for me.

 

If you are unable to access the game from a PC and have been looking forward to the game then I feel for you. The only compensation that players in your situation appear to get from this news is a more stable release then the PC community got.

Despite a fairly smooth release on PC compared to a lot of other mmo's the game still has a lot of issues and it is better for them to hold off and get these problems smoothed out before passing the game onto the Xbox One and PS4. As they stated they also
just couldn't make the console deadline due to "a series of unique problems specific to those platforms"

Up to you but if I was in your position I would just keep the pre-order active so you don't miss out on the bonuses if you decide to buy it later. At least you can look forward to a much more polished game when it does hit the shelves.

I have to agree with Chemist. If I had no PC to play on I would have kept my pre-order active. It wasn't costing me anything to let it sit and I really want to play this game.

 

Something that was just brought up on the Zenimax forums is that apparently the $20 transfer is going to bypass the achievements and trophies you earned levelling on PC so I can see a lot of console players starting fresh despite the offer.

 

Most of the guild I'm in is going to play the pc version now then port over to console when it releases there. A few of us will wait it out. Fortunately our parent clan offers other games for XB1 so we will have enough to occupy ourselves until console release.

Disapointed? Yes.

Would I rather play a broken console version next month, get p.o.'d & have it sour ESO for me? Nope.
