I saw a couple of players sparring but I think it was just friends practicing swings. Neither seemed to be connecting. I was under the impression that PvP is only in Cyrodil and maybe in only some areas. I shot arrows through players who walked into the
shot (gee, just like Skyrim companions) but it didn't affect them. It seems a bit unfair if I am fighting an enemy and someone decides to "help" and gets the last shot that they should get the loot or vice versa. I sometimes attacked an enemy that turned out
to have another player also attacking but I got the glowing search aura and they ran on. I know that when I joined LOTRO right after it got a major overhaul and a Mac client they made all fights instanced (is that the right word?) to whoever was participating
in that attack so all got the same loot. That seems like a more equitable arrangement especially in crowded dungeons where you can't always tell who is attacking what.

I bought a cheap Turtle Beach Universal headset with a mic at Walmart (PX11 $39.95). It has set up instructions for everything including Xbox One. It is wired but the cable is 12 ft long so it will reach from my chair to the Xbox. I haven't tested it on
the 360 yet because I needed an adapter and on the Mac one volume control doesn't seem to work. I figured I would wait to see how it works on the 360 before I try it again on the Mac or call Turtle Beach.

I'll keep that one in mind, Lady Bastet, thanks. When you get yours working on the 360, don't be surprised (or alarmed! I'm harmless - unless you are taliban, somehow I doubt that) if I send you a party invite if we both happen to be playing Skyrim, like
last night. I can always use advice for my mage from a skilled player such as yourself. Or you can send me one, it wouldn't bother me. I'm fairly gregarious, and I'm told I have the gift of gab... ESO group content :)

I'll admit I have gotten quite comfy with the wireless now tho, once I get it around my ear at least, and that is a chore! It works beautifully as I can wander around the basement talking, if one of the girls is playing Skyrim, as I did last week with Angelus.

I agree with you on the sharing. If you beat a guy four times and I kill him with the fifth hit, you should get 80% of the loot if we are partners. If I'm just some random doofus that shows up on scene and your opponent is 80% dead, before I finish him off,
you should get all the loot, and me a kick in the @ss for bothering you.

I talked to my friend at GameStop. The new headsets for the One are coming out next week 3/10 and then I'll take a look. Almost every one out there is having a special deal with upgrades and such for headsets that will be compatible with the One. Triton
is offering a full replacement for any of their headsets. You send in the old one and they send you the new one. Turtle Beach is not really saying anything, except that after TitanFall drops, you will be able to purchase plain headsets for the One. They have
a special outfit for TitanFall with eye candy, dressed up Headsets, PC mice and all sorts of doodads that are all dressed up for TitanFall. I'm waiting still so I can get one that will work and fully function with my new X-Box.

As far as what those folks were doing that were missing you with their attacks, the only place they had PvP was in Cyrodyll. No where else could anyone hit you, unless of course they were a NPC enemy. Just some riffraff goofing off. "Nice Feature" I say.
LadyB, your the only one I know that tried out the other maps so I'm sure you saw some things I didn't. I was watching a few YouTubes on the other places and I can't wait till we get to travel there. Then I think I'll have to be on the look out for enemies
as I won't be in my safe area anymore. Not sure if it will actually work that way or not. No one is really saying yet.

@Geddyme, remember we only get class specific loot no matter what, if I wander by and help you kill an enemy, anyone that had a part in that kill will get something from it. It may be a gold coin or something. They have as many as 5 things on them. If I
hit once with an arrow after you hit it 50 times with your sword or mace it won't matter who really killed it. I'll get something from it and so will you. It took me awhile to wrap my head around that "class specific" loot idea also. If three strangers all
attack some NPC beast in the wild and we all get damaging blows in, we all get some kind of loot from the kill. If I happen along and just fire at it just as it dies, I may not get anything from it while you who did get some blows in do get something. Don't
get mad at the other players for just trying to help out or share in the loot. It's one of the features I think will save this game. No more Awads as you say, "Steeling your hard work". I'm being a bit skeptical here but I did notice it working fairly well
in the beta. I got lucky and asked a few folks if they "got anything" and they said yes!

  5. Yes, I would prefer wireless as well but not for the price since I'm not sure if I really need them or not. It's not as if I don't have cords trailing across the floor already. I have the 360 wired to make it faster and just step over the ethernet cable.
Things would have to be different if I had other people in the house. The Turtle Beach headset I got has some old reviews complaining about not having Xbox support but this version does and shows the set-up for the PS4 and Xbox One as well. I had a decent
headset but I gave the mic I had to my son when his broke. It has 2 volume controls. One for the game and one for chat but the only one that does anything on the Mac is the chat volume so I'm not sure what is going on there. Since I'm not anticipating a chat
on the Mac I will wait for the adapter to arrive. It was supposed to come today but it is Mardi Gras and sometimes the mail comes and sometimes it doesn't though UPS usually delivers so I guess I'll see. Then I will let y'all help me test it.

  6. Angelus, I will have to pay more attention next beta and see how the loot divvies up with more than one random attacker because it seemed to me that only the player who got the kill got any loot. I didn't group so i don't know how that works. I had enough
to pay attention to to try and figure out chat as well. Too many keys! I wonder how they will simplify it for the controllers?

Speaking of betas, when the next one rolls out will they send another invite with a new key or do they just reinvite previous testers and we would log in under the previous account/key?

  7. BTW, Geddy, did you are your girls like Diablo III? Or did you play it? I ask because you/they might like Torchlight on the 360. It's a Diablo clone (minus the auction house) and kind of fun for a dungeon crawler. There are three classes and you can share
stuff in a common chest or keep stuff just for you in a separate chest. There is a pet available who helps you fight and can take loot back to town to sell if you get overloaded.

Not sure how they will do now. They had different invites for Consoles and PC's. I used the same key every time I went back. They just reminded me of the time and date and suggested I update the launcher before getting on. My account was specific to PC.
I have not yet requested one for the console because I'm not going to get my console until late June or early July. I might try to talk my wife into getting it for me sooner but I doubt she will. So you might try to put in a request for console beta now just
    to see what they say.

  9. No, I was going to wait until after the consoles launch myself. I am kind of tempted though to go ahead and get it to see if I could get a beta invite but I would be really bummed if I didn't considering how long it took to get the PC invite and there is
nothing else on the One I want to play right now. I'm not dancing for Titanfall or anything else I've seen announced. I really only like rpgs or maybe a dungeon crawler but not shooters or car races or sports. I would probably have jumped if my old games were
compatible or the FF MMO was on it (or anything else I owned).

Got it! Makes perfectly good sense. I have Destiny on the shelf with a beta key already. Just waiting for it to drop for the 360. They keep saying soon. I've been looking at a couple of other FPS games also but I just can't seem to justify the cost yet.
Got $800 saved up for the One with headset and games but definitely will be getting TESO first and then look at the others. We have a new Game store by us that looks very promising.

Now see, you've educated me a little more AT. Class specific loot I was not aware of. I was a Dragonknight in the EbonHeart faction; I seemed to pull mostly gold from bipedal corpses, and fur scraps or something from animals which attacked me. Things were
happening so fast and connection problems thrown in, it was hard to follow at times on the first play. Seemed like looting is on a timer now and you only have so long to fetch it, seems like about 10 seconds or so to pick it up or it would disappear. Unless
that was some player I could not see taking it?

I like the wireless because I can go pretty much anywhere in the house and it stays connected. Mic connects to the 360 wirelessly via my wireless controller so I can walk to the edge of the controllers range, set it down and then walk the rest of the way
to the fridge without losing connection... ESO group content :) It's only for chat mind you.

I would go with a nice gaming headset, wired or not, for the NextBox since game sound will play through those. I received nice BOSE noise canceling headphones for Christmas 2 years back, used mostly for cutting the grass or playing drums after bedtime for
the munchkins. I might try to find an interface for those to work with the console.

They would love Torchlight LadyB, the girls play it when they go to my nieces. At home they are into Skyrim and now ramped up and bouncing off the walls (literally) for ESO. I know they would play it though. I'm going to have to make a decision soon with
birthdays coming up, between ESO for their computer, or Torchlight for the console.

I'd save it up, unless they have a good PC. I'm only getting the PC one for a headstart and training. I'll certainly make some sort of stand for my 360 and the One so I can pick or choose. I'm saving a custom setting on my Harmony controller for the One.
I have too many games for my 360 to just throw it out. Plus all my 360 friends. Some of which are doing the same thing for game times and such. Since I'll only have enough for TESO at first it may take awhile to get some of the others anyway. I'll find out
for sure after I get back from Dover.

...ohhh and speaking of pets, I went home to Proudspire last night, Lydia met me at the door (when does she sleep anyway it was 3AM), I asked her how the kids were, then I notice behind her going up the stairs is a rabbit! I had no idea that was possible.
Pretty sure who in my house is responsible so pets is a selling point...

Hey guys! I just found this. You might be interested.

    www.elderscrollsonlineclasses.org

I find it really cool that it is still split so evenly across the board.

Four Classes of the total here are the percentages that have been reported. Also learned that I was doing it all wrong with my build. I was wondering why I wasn't having much effect. My Bow was up to 27 though with the skill tree filling up quite nicely.
Should have put more points into my Assasin for more effect. I was sharing skills with sword and board and Shadow so it might still work out in the end. Anyway.

    DragonKnight 23%

    Templar 24%

    Nightblade 28%

    Sorcerer 25%

Yea Nightblades ftw! I'm sticking with duel wield Nightblade. Think I had my build pretty much right for melee DPS anyway.
