I couldn't agree more. I like my game experience to be of my own determination. I don't think I was subjected to as rough treatment you were though, but I played in mostly five minute increments, once or twice an hour, thanks to my PC. Speaking for myself,
(and probably a few others here) if you ever run with me in the game you'll be treated as an equal, and a lady.

I'm not as learned in the lore of Tamriel as many here, not yet at least, so picking a faction in ESO was a guessing game mostly, other than knowing the Aldmeri from Skyrim. When confronted with the choice, I choose Ebonheart, mostly because I use almost
all the Dominion's representatives I encounter in Skyrim as pincushions. Not saying I wouldn't try the Aldmeri in the future... in no small part thanks to you, just the first time out something familiar seemed natural.

I was dead a good deal of the time myself, which downgrades your weapon apparently, though it didn't seem to make a whole huge difference. Most of my stealth kills prior to leaving Bleakrock were one hit with my run of the mill plain-jane sword from Coldharbour,
with the exception of those three bosses you need to kill to get off Bleakrock. Took a few whacks to get them down, but there was usually help at each place, whacking the bad guy as well.

    :)

I don't judge people, least of all you LadyB, and no one here that I'm aware of is... or is trying to make you feel guilty in any way. Nor should they. From my time in this forum, I've found you to be nothing but kind, considerate, friendly... and funny
    too!

As long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, do what you want in life, as long as you want to do it. And when you don't want to do it anymore, then do something else. We don't get enough trips around the sun to waste time not trying to be happy.

  5. Thanks, guys, I guess my equilibrium wasn't as restored as I thought. I like the name Kaena and I liked the movie, too.

I realized, after this weekend, that it will take some time to get used to life in a big MMO. My only experience was in LOTRO and that was mostly unfun in large part because of the controls. I knew the controls and I were not going to get along when I was
out looking for grapes and couldn't steer in front of some rocks and ended up in the middle of a goblin camp behind the rocks. I do hope though that it takes less than 2 years (which is what it took in Skyrim) to get to the point where I feel like I'm doing
    it right.

By level 7, the Altmer sorcerer was able to use her staff and magic instead of her bow and I thought that was a good thing. I didn't go down the summoning path so I don't have a familiar. I did in LOTRO but only a raven not a winged twilight. I could maybe
go for a winged twilight. Y'all should try out the other alliances. The Dominion start is beautiful and the Covenant is exotic.

LOL @ AT, and roger that. LadyB I'm not going to mess with you and that destruction magic you are so handy with. I've actually been on fire before, briefly, and I did not like that much! : )

If you play with us on the console (and I hope you will), you will have an entirely different experience, hopefully a better one.

Speaking of console I thought I would mention this here, it being the top of the list. Today, I saw that Amazon has a 12 month Gold card (not the digital code) for $39.99. That's a good deal if anyone needs to re-up in the near future.

I have actually played more mmos then any other game myself and yes they most definitely are a big time sink. This is shaping up to be one of the biggest mmos in a long time as well (behind World of Warcraft). I played World of Warcraft for years and to
a lot of the guys on there that game was their life.

I never really delved into it as much as some of them but I would have to admit that mmos do suck you in. Some of these games are recognised by mlg and other professional gaming circuits so it's not actually a waste of time for some lucky players who happen
to make a name for themselves in the crowd though.

  10. I went back into Skyrim this afternoon while ESO was still fresh and they are just two totally different experiences. ESO can never achieve the claustrophobic creepiness of sneaking through a barrow. In fact, this weekend I felt foolish anytime I went into
sneak mode with so many around me rampaging forward. There were some places where sneaking seemed appropriate but I seldom saw anyone doing it. With so many people everywhere you go walking through you and such it is kind of hard to feel immersed. I guess
it just has to be taken on its own merits. Once again, though, I wonder if there really was a clamor for an MMO or just a coop mode for the original games.

I only went into sneak when I saw the bad guys, mostly in Bleakrock, it was pretty easy to smoke those first enemies with one shot when they didn't know you were there... but after with everyone in Morrowind running hither and tither, I didn't do it as much.
It did seem to me that some of the run-of-the-mill enemies I encountered were only in "my dimension" as others went running past them and they would see me sneaking in from behind...

Correct me if I'm wrong but the console versions will have "lobbies" similar to Black Ops or Halo where you could strictly do co-op missions with your friends in a private game, and not worry about the unwashed masses stampeding through your missions? Then
you could hop into public lobbies to run with the horde or do PvP matches if that's your cup of meat?

All the people turned loose in these weekend betas are to get as many bugs to come to light as possible and test the servers under load? Once it releases, you should be able to have a more private experience, at least up to a certain point in the game progress...
am I on the right path here?

Well there were quite a few people on the beta forums quite quick to point out that Zenimax were mainly using this beta as a stress test. They had a test server up at the same time for 'content testers'. The same was true for the beta beforehand. The thing
that is going to really set this mmo apart from a lot of others in the past is the amount of systems it will be available on. Having an mmo available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC/Mac is new and I don't think anyone is exactly sure how it will work out.

I read on the beta forum when I checked out my own test group, which seemed all encompassing to me, that earlier tests had smaller groups with one that was all women and one for older players, etc. Of course, this past weekend also had the rest of the world
since it was all on the NA server. I, too, was under the impression that the release version will have ways of filtering people into a more compatible Group. I guess we'll see how that works in a month.

Mostly yes! The difference being as I see it, when we get on the server, no lobby. We then pick some adventure to go on, quests at lower levels or Dungeons at higher levels. Those are our "semi-private" missions. Other quests will be going on and we can
sneak past or indulge a little help out. Enemies are yours alone really. If I attack someone (enemy) I take all the agro for that enemy. They will focus strictly on me. If you decide to help, you will then share that agro and they will attack you also. If
you do nothing they will run right past or thru you to get to me.

Now if we are Grouped it will be a different matter as when grouped we all share the agro. My enemy will also be yours. That's were the shared loot comes from also. So we can see the others and interact with them but they are not necessarily engaged in our
mission. Now there are peaceful zones such as towns and such that we will be perfectly safe.

Now when we get to a certain level, we can then join others in Faction quests such as attacking a castle or something. I hope that helps clear it up some. I was hoping and I'm still hoping that we could all get our group together at some time and do just
that, pick a time for an event and all get on at the same time for a few, maybe more, hours and run together as a group. Two Night-blades, a Templar, and a battle Mage. I'm thinking serious fun here. A lot of options.

Any one wants to correct me or add to this feel free. On the Console of course.

Thanks Chem and Angelus, the game sounds better and better to me. I don't mind playing in groups with people I know. To that end I wonder how the mic is on the One's Kinect? The current mic for the 360 kinect leaves much to be desired and transmits a lot
of feedback. Could be some of them just need tuned. I also wonder if my existing wireless mic will work with the One? Something tells me greedy microsoft will make me buy another one.

Back to the beta, it seemed to me that when some jack*** would take a swing at me they always missed, or passed right through me. Was this because I was in a town at the time then? Or was there no PvP in the past weekends beta? There were only a couple of
times that I thought an actual player was gunning for me, and none killed me that I recall. And I didn't attack anyone, on purpose anyway. Still it seemed when I first arrived in Davon's Watch that there were a couple fights between players while we were still
    near the beach?
