Escort/Protector Side Missions Question

On those Escort/Protect missions, (the ones that have the shield symbol on the map) are those missions that contribute to 100% of side quest? Also do the same ones keep re-appearing? I beat the one where the guy says "May the fish be with you" and then the
next day he was there again. Couldn't tell if the game just didn't save or if they just reappear.

I just hope GTA V has less escort missions. I hate escort missions.

 

First Escort mission?

Has anyone been able to get past the first escort mission you have to do?

Every time I try it, it glitches out, makes the car vanish before it even moves, and says I failed. "You destroyed the vehicle." It goes loading screen, shows me the car for a second, then I failed.

 

No, they're not. I had only done maybe two of them before I got the achievement.

Now having said that, maybe two hours after getting the achievement, I received another side mission near the end of the game.

 

so what you are saying is these protector missions aren't mandatory to do then for the side quest 100% achievement?

 

correct they are not..... they keep respawning too. I've done the same one probably a few times now just to get more survival score. (and I do have 100% completion)
