Errors and factory reset...

Just recently my X1 started giving me the general error of 0x80004005 when ever I try to go to the home screen. Additionally, apps and games randomly fail to start because "something went wrong".

From what I am seeing, the only option is to perform a factory reset on the X1 which will remove all games and apps and return the X1 to the state it was when it left the factory. This is where I start to get a little unclear and get a sick feeling in the
pit of my stomach. If I perform the factory reset it says that my game saves "should" still be on the cloud but I may have to reinstall the game(s). Can anyone tell me if this is actually the case and that everything is fine after the reset? I do not want
to throw almost 13 years of gaming down the drain over a technical glitch made by a coder.

Can anyone explain why this has or is happening and what a possible cause could be? The error messages are so vague and secretive it makes determining a cause impossible so it is not repeated. I would hate to factory reset the X1 then re-install the updates
only to have this problem repeat itself.

Xbox Startup Errors

My Xbox continues to give me startup errors. The numbers of the errors vary, I have seen E105 E102 and E200. I tried troubleshooting to factory reset, but I still got the error while trying to reset it. Is my Xbox just broke?

 

X-box Not Working Right?

First of all I would try a factory reset if you are experiencing this many errors. I had similar errors after a couple of weeks when I first got my console at launch.

(don't worry about losing game saves, they are all backed up on the cloud and it will sync them when you start a game)

If you still get similar errors after this I'd suggest registering your console for repair as you could have a faulty hard drive. You can do that by going to
http://service.xbox.com

 

It's not the latest OS version if your wondering it's either a internal problem or corruption to the Hard drive currently we'll go with a corruption lets factory reset but instead keep all games & apps installed. You'll be prompt to choose what option you
would like to prefer when clicking on "Factory reset" in the options.

Settings - System - Console info & updates - Reset console - Reset and keep my game & apps.

If that doesn't seem to fix it unfortunately a full reset of the console would be ideal right now.

I recommend keeping your games & apps installed when prompt. If it has not worked lets do a full Factory reset.

The factory reset has been known to fix this problem i'd would suggest the same thing first reset you will choose to keep the games & apps installed if this problem still purists lets do a full memory wipe that means all local and cloud storage will be removed
games / apps / profiles / settings etc

If you are in the preview program you can sign into your account you should be prompt to re-install the app but in case it does not give you any notification you'll need to contact the preview forums for another access code to the app.
