Error: You cannot play online multiplayer through Xbox Live because of how your account is set ...

I need help. I have searched forums and tied the support chat ... no one can help so I am posting to hopefully find someone who might have an idea on what I can do. On both my XBox One and Windows 10 computer, everytime I try to
play on online game I get the following error message: "You cannot play online multiplayer through Xbox Live because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online safety settings on Xbox.com. The first suggestion from everyone
is go to xbox.com and change that setting .... trust me multiplayer is set to "Allow" ... in fact I set every since setting under safety and privacy to the widest, most open setting just to be sure there were not conflicting settings. I have logged out and
logged back in on my windows 10 machine. I have also removed the account on the xbox, turned it off, and added it back. No luck. What I find interesting is the number of people on forums who have the same issue with no apparent resolution.
Microsoft where are you on this one ... ?

PS: I have an Xbox Live Gold active membership ... that is wasting away ....

Unable to “play online multiplayer through Xbox live”

I get an error message when joining friend’s realms on Minecraft stating that “you cannot play online multiplayer through Xbox Live because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings on Xbox.com”.

I own my account, and all I do is play multiplayer online games. Nothing on my privacy settings is blocked as far as online content/interaction.

Why is this just a problem with Mojang?

 

Minecraft realm error

Hi, I was going to buy minecraft realm (xbox one) but when I select the option an error message pops out.

"You cannot play online multiplayer

through Xbox Live because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings

on Xbox.com."

I went on Xbox.com and logged in. Every option was set on allow. I also checked in my xbox settings and everything was ok, but the error still pops out. How can I fix this?

 

... To add to the above. To eliminate that it was not a local issue on my windows 10 machine, I completely formatted the machine and did a clean install of windows 10 on another machine I had sitting around. After installed windows 10, doing all the updates,
and then trying to connect to minecraft through my xbox live account I received the exact same error message. This should eliminate that this is an issue locally on my computer and points more toward an issue with xbox live account perhaps?
Microsoft ... going to need your help.

Same problem! Microsoft, what is the solution? User experience with your parental controls is TERRIBLE.
My husband is eventually going to take this (expletive removed) Xbox out to the sidewalk and smash it with a hammer because my child is so frustrated that we can't get a safe, functioning child account set up for him to play on (while most of his friends
are undoubtedly playing with unprotected, adult accounts).
