Error with pre paid codes

I have a pre paid code gold membership code which just comes up with "un-expected issue, please try again later". All of which have come up with the same response each time I try.

Tried to go through the website and the same thing happens on here too, with no help on the error codes either.

Any ideas ?

What types of cards are they? If they are pre-paid credit cards then that may be why they cannot work as most pre-paid cards are not compatible with the Live service.

Are you receiving any error codes or do you have any other information as to why you are not able to redeem your pre-paid code? With some of the pre-paid codes you may need to wait between the times you are trying to enter the code.Thanks in advance

Remeeming errors are usually caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check your billing information at
http://billing.microsoft.com and
http://account.microsoft.com/services for any outstanding amount issues. After that try redeeming the code on both xbox console and via xbox.com/redeemcode

Also check that account, console and code region match, using different regions will cause issues when redeeming too.
