Error with iOS iPad Minecraft login - “something went wrong please try again”

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue with Minecraft: Pocket Edition on iOS. Have you tried logging into the Microsoft account at
account.microsoft.com to ensure that the credentials are correct? If able to log into the account there, then the issue will lay with something else. You may also wish to try
logging into the Minecraft/Mojang account to ensure that the credentials are also correct for that site.

If you've eliminated the possibility that the log ins to the Xbox website or Microsoft credentials are not the issue, then there may be something else at play stopping the successful log in to the site on your mobile device/tablet.
I would also recommend trying to change up the internet connection to the iPad and then attempting to log in again to eliminate the possibility that it is due to a network issue.

I further recommend reaching out to Minecraft support and Minecraft
Forum Support for further assistance with the error logging into the Minecraft: PE edition. Here in Forums we sadly do not have the appropriate tools to further assist on Mobile issues or directly with this
edition of the game.

My solution, which I couldn’t post to the original now locked question above, is that my child’s iPad had website restrictions, which for me was the more conservative approach. When I changed the iPad to only filter explicit sites, this worked fine. I did
this in ScreenTime >> Content & Privacy Restrictions >> Content Restrictions.

I tried whitelisting xbox.com and microsoft.com, but those didn’t solve the problem, but presumably someone at MIcrosoft knows which urls need to be whitelisted so a kid can log into Minecraft if a parent only allows whitelisted sites.

It doesnt help. But luckily im an engineer and woked out the cause if this.

For some reason your Xbox live functionality breaks when trying to sign in to Minecraft on an existing WIFI network. Its as if the network settings or IP address is getting blocked by your Xbox live sign in attempt.

FIX - the only way to make it work so yiu can actually log in to the Minecraft app or existing user account on an ipad with this issue is to connect and sign in AFTER you have switched to a different WIFI network or to tether you mobile phone data.

Pls pass this info about this BUG on to your Xbox live engineers to resolve ASAP as there are thousands of kids and other Minecraft IOS users with this dumb problem.

Edit: I also can't login on the xbox app.
