    E101 error while preforming offline system update.

    My Xbox (Original Matte Top) hasn't been updated since 2019, according to the offline system update page, my Xbox needs 2 update files, OSU1 and OSU2, since the version is "10.0.18363.8119 (19h1_release_xbox_dev_1911.191119-1135)"

    When I follow all the steps and install OSU2 first as the page says, the console goes to a progress bar with "Preparing console.." then I get this error: "E101 00000504 8B050041"

    This page says to install OSU1 only if you get this error, but the page is for startup errors, not offline system updates, I don't want to risk bricking the console, what should i do?

    Cannot preform an offline system update

    Same issue, to make it worse I checked to see if my console was covered under warranty and of course its not.

    @Microsoft there has to be a blanket rule for system errors not caused by the user. This is basically another red ring of death.... we followed the troubleshooting as directed and all we got is more errors leaving LOYAL customers stuck.

    Should I go buy brand new xbox scorpio just to potentially upgrade in 3 months and waste my money or maybe even try a used one and risk another ERROR?

    So I insterted a USB with the files needed to preform an offline system update. As soon as I selected the Offline System Update option the Preparing update screen flashed for a brief second before taking me right to this error message. Help?
    I have the same problem, and i use the factory reset (erasing everything) it starts “preparing console” but stops in 50% and do nothing else ... if anyone can help pls

    You may have accidentally downloaded an incorrect Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool file. Please review the instructions on how to locate the correct operating system version so that you can select the correct Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool file.
    Then, download and install the file again.
