    Error While Downloading PC Game 0x8007001F (Update)


    I'm currently running Boot Camp on a 16in MacBook Pro and keep running into this error code downloading Gears 5. Below is the screenshot. I've googled different solutions and can't seem to figure out anything that will work. Update - So I had a theory
    that the error is due to downloading then pausing the download and then restarting it. I started downloading a separate game and it was downloading just fine. Once I paused it and then restarted it I got the same error

    Hi,

    There is a big misunderstanding of how the Xbox App works on PC. The Xbox App is not a stand alone application like Steam, Origin or GoG Galaxy. In terms of downloading and even running games, the Xbox App is like a portal. When you chose to download a PC
    game on the App, the download is sent to the Windows Store App, and it is the Windows Store that does the download. The Xbox App doesn't download anything.

    Like wise, any error messages you get while downloading content using the App are Windows Error codes. As far as I can determine 0x8007001f is a Windows Update error.

    Have you tried to repair your Windows install using the

    Windows 10 media creation tool?

    And updating does not seems to fix the problem.

    I really don't think the windows link given above are the right solution, as this is a generic windows error code (why would audio driver block Xbox games from installing... ?)

    And apparently, if Windows 10 system resides on an external hard disk it somehow messes up the installation process for "Administrator approval required for installation" games (Error 0x8007001f
    with Xbox Game Pass PC).

    At the moment, in my case, it seems there is no solution to this problem :-(

    I can't change my install (I moved Windows 10 on an external USB drive as I wanted more space for OSX on my laptop).

    I have to wait for an update of XBox app if any.
