    Error when trying to redeem prepaid code


    I live in Sweden and that's where my account is registered. A few hours ago I was given a prepaid gift code from a friend in the US. When he bought it he had the following region choices: North America, South America, Europe and Taiwan. Naturally he chose
    Europe, but for some reason I can't redeem it. It recognizes that the code is worth 25 EUR, but then I just get an error saying I have to be in Europe to redeem it. It says:

    "CsvCurrencyMismatch

    rMhp2vIMz0qJuArY.7.21.16.5

    2016/12/21 - 05:15:42 UTC"

    Why is this?

    For reference: I have never had any problems redeeming codes I've bought for myself and I have an activeXbox Live Gold account.

    Need help redeeming my xbox live code

    I tried redeeming the code in my browser on my computer using these instructions, big mistake. It said "thank you, you redeemed your code" and then exited me out. No gamertag registration whatsoever. I thought the whole point of redeeming my code was to create a gamer tag, but no just exits me out. I then tried redeeming my code on my xbox (so that I could create the gamer tag) and it said "sorry, code already redeemed."

    so what the... what do I do now?
