Error when trying to install Netflix

Good afternoon everyone,

Summary: I recieve a "that didn't work for some reason" with error code 0x80070057 when trying to install netflix app

I came home today and attempted to launch the netflix app and received an error (a different error than the one I mention above) which prevented me from launching the app. The Netflix website suggested that I uninstall the app and then reinstall it. I was
able to uninstall it, but now when I attempt to install it from the store, I get the error message above. I have rebooted the console and even removed the power cable for 30 seconds while it was off, but I continue to get the error.

The error code lookup tool on this website claims the error will occur when you try to play a corrupt music or video file, our when you try to redeem a code. Obviously none of these situations apply.

I fear my next course of action will have to be to completely reset the console and reinstall everything, which I don't want to do for obvious reasons. Any clue as to how to fix this?

netflix installation stopped error 0x87de2720

I get the sane error code when trying to install both Netflix and YouTube... Neither of these apps have installed on my console.. Both state installation stopped when they reach 100%!

 

Minecraft Xbox Live problem

We are having the same issue too. Did you install the new Minecraft Update? Also the same error is now coming up when trying to launch Netflix and Amazon Video.

Try clearing system cache, in the storage settings on your Xbox.

Try removing just the profile in which the issue is occuring, and redownload from the xbox live servers.

As a secondary, check to make sure all of your account information is up to date.

Worse case scenario, you may have to indeed reset your console.

Thank you for your reply. I was able to fix the issue by clearing the cache as you suggested. However, I was unable to find that option in the menu, and instead followed the guidance on this website:

support.activision.com/.../Deleting-Old-Files-from-PlayStation-4-and-Xbox-One-Consoles

Which suggests to turn off the console by holding down the xbox logo button, removing the power brick, then plugging it back in and turning on the console. Oddly enough, that is exactly what I tried yesterday too. Oh well, it's working now.
