Error when launching apps from xbox pc library

I just retried launching a game and it worked. Give it another go now.
Mates reporting it's working for him as well =)

Appears to be a very widespread issue.

Event viewer seems to indicate some issues. I'll post these here in case they are useful.

And an interesting looking permissions related problem.

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

and APPID

{37399C92-DC3F-4B55-AE5B-811EE82398AD}

to the user USER\USER SID (S-1-5-21-178521419-16333340-2230364796-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Microsoft.GamingApp_2111.1001.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe SID (S-1-15-2-1723189366-2159580849-2248400763-1481059666-1951766778-2756563051-3565589001). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

May not be related but by mate and I both performed windows updates last night but couldn't launch any of the xbox Game pass games this morning.

I've performed SFC /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth with no issues being detected.

Hey man everyone on Xbox next gen console is having the same issue so its just a matter of waiting for Microsoft to fix it

I got the same one and thought it was only me, even better to see that there's no "24/7 online chat" as advertised but only forums, nor can you request a call. Hopefully they fix this

These steps can help you, give it a try.

Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates.

1. Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app

2. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset. Do this for the game too.

3. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

4. Open the Microsoft Store app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner>downloads updates>get updates and update everything.

5. Restart your PC, log in to both apps and see if that solves the problem.

I'm also seeing several other posts about users not being able to open the games, maybe it's a network problem that may also be affecting you.
