    Hello, when I try to buy another gamertag (change it) it makes an error like this :

    Something went wrong

    Error when changing Gamertag

    Dear Support Team.

    I just tried to change the XBox gamertag for my daughter, which - as this is the second time - costs money that I made available on her account.

    Now, as she is claiming her tag, she's redirected to her account, and on confirmation of using it she always gets an error called: "Problem-3001", followed by a long ID consisting of letters and numbers. She doesn't get any further, and my attempts to find
    this error Code and fix the issue simply fails at finding this code or an Explanation for it.

    Can you please advise as to what we are doing wrong, or what Problem-3001 exactly means?

    Hi,

    There's nothing wrong with your console, it would be an account related issue if you were unable to change your gamertag. If your case has been pushed to the advocacy team then it means it's being handled. If they didn't give you an update yet, it's best to
    contact phone support and ask for an update by giving them your service request number.

    or error code appear when the issue occurs? We recommend attempting to

    Can’t change gamertag

    On xbox it says “You’ve used your free gamertag change. To change it again, you’ll need to buy a gamertag change on xbox.com.” I’ve never changed it and it doesn’t tell me i need to buy a gamertag change when i try on xbox.com, it just does nothing when
    i click claim then gives me the error when I refresh.

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are interested in changing the gamertag that was assigned to your Microsoft account. Once an Xbox profile is created on a Microsoft account, the account is automatically assigned a gamertag.
    Each account gets one free gamertag change. We have a support article which explains how to

    Hi, I believe you can only change your Gamertag from your Xbox 360 console or through the Games For Windows LIVE programme - neither of which should give you errors when trying to change the Gamertag.
