Error when changing Gamertag

What type of error are you getting when trying to change his gamertag?

If you followed the instructions on how to change the gamertag from this link and are getting an error message we would need to know what the error message is that you are getting.

On xbox it says “You’ve used your free gamertag change. To change it again, you’ll need to buy a gamertag change on xbox.com.” I’ve never changed it and it doesn’t tell me i need to buy a gamertag change when i try on xbox.com, it just does nothing when
i click claim then gives me the error when I refresh.

I'm not quite understanding what the issue is. Is the error occurring when changing your Gamertag? Or were you able to change the Gamertag and the issue lies when you try to login when Minecraft opens?

There's nothing wrong with your console, it would be an account related issue if you were unable to change your gamertag. If your case has been pushed to the advocacy team then it means it's being handled. If they didn't give you an update yet, it's best to
contact phone support and ask for an update by giving them your service request number.
